I love this game, not from the first night I played or bought it, but after several hours of gameplay, I got seriously addicted to it

However, I hate playing as a lone wolf all the time in huge pubs (I love huge pubs though) so I am searching for TIMO members that are willing to join me in my quest to pad my rank!

sadly this game runs like CRAP on my comp... 800x600 w/ no AA and other things toned down is not acceptable when I'm running other better looking games at atleast 1024 w/ 2x aa

It's funny, I can run oblivion with much higher settings and resolution than I can in BF2142, and yet I get better frames in oblivion! Bad coding FTL!

What are your system specs. solo? I have 3700 2.2ghz san diego core, antec true 550 wtt ps, 500gb hitachi hd, x800gt pcie with 2 gigs duel ram. I get btw 40-70 fps with resolution at 1024x768 with the retail version.

Wow solo, your CPU must be crap, because you have the exact same graphics card as me, the same amount of RAM... the only thing that is different is that you OCed your graphics card and that my CPU is an A64 X2 3800+. I get low FPS most of the time cuz I play on crappy servers... By crappy I mean that I usually play on a server with around 60 people on it and sometimes I ping high on them as well which causes my fps to be very low. I have all the settings maxed though @ 1024x768 and 8x AA?

Dru, hit me up on xfire when you're down for some ownage... I usually play late afternoon till early evening which would translate to somewhere around 4 PM EST to 7 PM EST.

It definately is bro! As much as I loved what the p4 has done for me in the past, it isn't and never will see it's true potential and new games are just too much for it. I'm running it on a single channel only limited board so even overclocked 400mhz, it isn't getting the bandwidth I need.

I was going to purchase and download the game tonight, but apparently my uni has the EA downloader blocked as part of its anti-p2p filters... so it looks like I am not getting it

How is BF2142 anyway? I kind of couldn't get to play the demo or even get the game yet. Yet another time I get screwed out of a chance to play something right when it comes out thanks to the desert. Oh well. Performance fairly smooth and/or decent? I can't wait to get it in a few months.

I'll tell you my story... It might change your opinion and it might not...

I pre-ordered Battlefield 2142 on newegg when it was first available about a month ago. Then, about a week after the pre-order I was finally able to download and play the demo. In my honest opinion, I was very disappointed with the demo and I was really regretting pre-ordering BF 2142. I thought it was a complete waste of 50 bucks. Then, I get the game in last Monday, pop it in and say I might as well give it a go. So there I am playing for about an hour and it seems alright... some pretty cool maps, great concept, good gameplay and all that... The next day I completely get addicted to it. The fact that there is almost 10x as many unlocks in BF 2142 compared to BF2 just makes me wanna actually pad my score now so I can get those sweet new weapon and gadget unlocks! The field upgrade feature is pretty cool too, because you get a free upgrade to use as long as you remain connected on that server. It gives you a chance to try an upgrade that you are "iffy" about so that you do not regret wasting an unlock on it instead of getting something much better.

I love Battlefield 2142 and I am completely addicted to it now

Hey i got a rubbish character which i pad with, only to get some unlocks though because padding is unfair on the guys who play properly to get top of the leaderboard and its gonna' spoil the fun if i unlock everything. I've added you on xfire and i'm in lead of a BF:2142 division thats just oppened up in the clan im in so if anyone wants to join just add me on xfire. 1future1perfect1

Well... Initially what I meant by padding was going around in a group of people you know and talk to in vent and raping everyone on a map

But then a few days ago, I found out how to pad... so I made a second solider for padding purposes only

I'm actually pretty darn far with the unlocks of my real character.... I love this game and I play it a lot, especially since a lot of my friends are finally starting to get it now. Now that I have someone to play with, it's a lot more fun, and I play it a lot more.
