Solo, I am 100% convinced that had this upgrade come even an entire year or two down the line, you would still complain about it simply becuase it is Sony and you are who you are. If you say otherwise, you are only fooling yourself. Or atleast trying to. Bottom line, you're complaing about something that doesn't need to be complained about, like I said, Sony's exisiting customers are not affected in ANY way shape or form in a negative manner. What this thread comes down to is you bitching for the sake of bitching, nothing more.

I agree with Solo that the increase in HD space is a bit unfair to launch buyers.
BUT, a 20GB increase is so insignificant.... My sisters boyfriend doesnt even use any space on his HD.

As to the chage in color of the Wii: Who cares. Different Color != more expensive
You can proly buy skins for console, if desperate.

Thats like saying that people who bought an AMD 3800+ when it was the top of the line X2 got screwed because just a month later AMD released the 4200+ X2.

Another good point. No one is getting screwed by Sony doing this.

carl33p you even say that your sister's boyfriend doesn't even use his, so is he getting screwed too? I don't get it. Either they are getting screwed, or they are not.

As has been stated by a few posters...no one is getting screwed. Sony is not ripping anyone off and the people that have the PS3 60GB version have no reason to be upset.

Regardless of what you may think of my reason for posting it, I've got better things to do than come on here and bitch about Sony and their horrible market tactics.

If the Elite 360 was made by Sony, you'd have complained... And apparently, you do NOT have better things to do, and this thread is the proof.

Regardless of what you say your reason for posting is, the bottom line does not change, and that is that the current user base is unaffected. Man, I'd hate to see how you would have reacted if Sony had dropped their price, judging by your reaction to this, you'd have raised hell...

Let's just say for arguments sake, that next month Sony drops the price by $100... Then what? Since you now claim to be fighting for the people, you would then complain for the same reasons, saying they are screwing over their current users by dropping the price. If they do not drop the price, you complain that it is too expensive and they need to get their act together and lower their prices... So which is it?

Another example... Say the Wii announces that their consoles will now support 720p HD resolutions and will be hitting the shelves shortly with no price premium. I'll bet you anything you would not be complaining about the much larger user base that currently has a Wii... No sir, you would be posting it on here, all excited and you'd think it it's the best thing since sliced bread.

These last two examples you have no argument against IMO. If you deny them you're simply lying and if you don't, then it proves that what you say is baseless and purely emotionally driven. It's one or the other, take your pick.

Hey, Solocamo, did you complain when Sony released the redesigned Playstaion, or the smaller Playstation 2? Or when Microsoft started using a different GPU in the Xbox after version 1.1? Or when Microsoft started putting in faster DVD-ROM drive in version 1.3 and higher Xboxs? Or when Xboxs were being found to have larger hard drives than what was advertised as they were actually cheaper to purchase? (Still only 10gig partition though. My xbox had a 20gig drive in it but partitioned to 10gig) Or when Nintendo released a smaller version of their SNES? Or when Sega offered a Dreamcast with a built in modem? Did you also complain when the prices of these game consoles started going down, thus screwing over the original buyers who had to pay a much higher price?

Stuff like this happens all the time.
