| Warcraft 3: Vista preventing hosting?
Hello, here is my problem. I am currently running a network behind a router with my laptop (XP) and my desktop (Vista), all the correct ports are open on the network itself, I can host online warcraft 3 games perfectly fine with no problems on my laptop, but no one can join my games when I host them on my desktop, and I think it has something to do with Vista. Here's what I have tried so far, 1: running war3 as administrator. 2: Windows firewall is turned off, but I put warcraft 3 on its allow list anyway. 3: At one point I completely disabled my anti virus (Nortan) to see if this was preventing it, didn't work. I've been looking all over for a fix, and since I am very very new to Vista, I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated. I have not had the chance to test hosting with any other games at this time, only warcraft 3. Thank you for your time. |

I had an issue even playing BF2 undervista becusae the firewall was blocking punkbuster requests and I would get kicked off the servers after just a couple minutes, even with the firewall supposedly disabled. I finally completley disabled the service itself by typing "services.msc" in the search box, scrolling down to Windows Firewall, turning it off and setting it to "disabled."
Once I did that, BF2 worked fine

I had the same stupid issue, but mine is more annoying, i could host for 7 weeks straight, and then 12 hours after i get off my computer all of a sudden i can't host. I have open all port necessary for wc3 (# 6112-6119) on both windows firewall and my router firewall. I am stumped as none of the settings have changed for either. |
