Hi Everyone,
Just thought I would give you guys some news incase you havent visited Blizzards site yet or heard about the latest patch for Warcraft III Beta. I have no site to post a url to this email i got so i will just post it here and hope I dont get into too much trouble for long post....
Greetings Warcraft III Beta testers,
Good news -- another patch is on the way. This patch includes several features along with some additional changes to the game. In this e-mail you'll find some important new information about those changes, but please also make sure you read the patch.txt file in your Warcraft 3 folder after the software is patched. Of course, playing the Beta will get you the most information, so after doing some reading, get on Battle.net and go smash your opponents! We think you'll find that the game should be an exciting, new experience from what you have currently been playing. Please read on to learn more:
Warcraft III Beta Updates:
Additional players - For the Warcraft III Beta we will now allow up to 5 people to play on Battle.net per CD key simultaneously.
Following are some important points you should know about the CD key upgrade.
1. You can now include your friends by having them install from your CD using your key. The CD does not need to be in the CD-ROM drive after installation, but each person needs to install using a different installation name.
2. Beware that if you choose to let others use your CD-Key you should ensure that they do not distribute the key to anyone else. Doing so could mean that the next time you try to log on, all 5 available slots will be filled. If all 5 slots are filled, you will not be able to play on Battle.net. Please note that we will not be able to create additional slots, so please display caution when distributing your CD key.
3. Blizzard cannot provide new or replacement keys.
New Arranged teams option - Now Available - We hope you'll spend some time trying out the new arranged teams option. With this option you can now create custom teams and become anonymously matched with other teams at similar skill levels.
New damage and armor system -- Currently these types are not displayed in the game; so if you would like further information, please visit the Blizzard web site for details on specific units. Simply go to
http://www.battle.net/war3/basics/unitstats.shtml to find out more. Additional information is located on this page and is available for download in PDF format. For your convenience, we have provided a link to a viewer on this same page.
Further upgrades and balance changes include:
- Formation Override - You can override formation movement by holding the Alt-key as you mouse click to issue move and attack-move orders.
- Combat Pathing - In combat, units no longer formation path so they can be quickly moved about the battlefield.
- FOW Functionality - Fog of War is now complete and treats objects under the fog appropriately. For example, right clicking on a fogged tree properly issues a "Harvest" command rather than a "Move" command.
- AOE Spells - Units that will be affected by an AOE spell are colored green.
- Minimap Ping Button - Sends a minimap ping to all allied players.
- Multiplayer Load Game Screen - Displays all participating players who are in the game and their "ready" status.
- Last Transmission - This now supports the last 8 transmissions.
- Townhalls - The backspace key cycles through all owned town halls centering the game view on them.
- Units with negative "buffs" on them will now display with a red mini-portrait in the infocard.
- Many other new items have been added to the game. Please play through the current build and let us know what you think.
An Altar, rather than a Barracks or equivalent building, is now required before you can upgrade to your second-tier Keep equivalent building.
- Heroes are now built from their respective Altars.
We won't take up any more of your time with this e-mail. Go get the patch and slaughter your enemies. We look forward to seeing you on Battle.net!

Once again I apologize for the long post but, I know there are diehard Blizzard fans out there that would want to know any major changes taking affect in the game before release!
