mp_freezetime doesn't have anything to do with it, if anything sv_maxspeed would need to be changed to sv_maxspeed 320, however since you mentioned that time is going faster, it isn't that either.
Which version of counter-strike in specific are you talking about? Counter-strike 1.5 or counter-strike 1.6 on steam? Possibly counter-strike: condition zero that includes bots? I am confused what you mean, installed to a cd and is that CS2 your refering to possibly counter-strike: source.
Please clarify, since counter-strike: condition zero and counter strike: source have bots in them.
Unless you happened to install any mods to your game like pod bots or another type of bots. Which if thats the case, I would possibly check for an update on the podbots or if you're using the non-module form, update both the podbots and AMXX as well.
If it ends up being counter-strike: condition zero or counter-strike: source on steam, then it's likely you should delete the folder in your account for those games. Or simply try deleting the server.cfg and the config.cfg for that game and let it regenerate next time you load your game and listen server. If you didn't install any modules or even metamod, then it's likely something screwed up causing your game to behave this way. The only thing I have seen cause this behavior has been hacks(cheats that modify and inject into the core components of the game) to do whats known as speed hacks. Speed hacks modify the game, to trick it into thinking you're game is moving faster and updates that to the server. The problem is when you load a single player game, you're the host of the server. So your game and everything in the server moves faster.
If you're using cheats or have used them in the past, it could have put something in your config or changed something. If not, then you have an anomaly that I can't really find on steams site and haven't really heard of it happening otherwise.
Either way, if you can't resolve it, then if your using steam. Delete this directory C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\your user account name here\counter-strike: condition zero or source.
If its the original counter-strike that had an old version of podbots that predates steam, maybe try reinstalling or possibly looking at updating it if you just play at home on a lan.

However the newer one is counter strike source, as mentiond above i was just running it off a dvd.. as I do if i played on a friends machine or my old desktop (worked fine). I'll try your suggestions and report back, thanks again for your efforts. |
