Ok so far It seems it performed slightly worse than the demo. I had same settings n yea.
I don't think it supports SLI, otherwise I'm sure I would have noticed the increased performance. Bummer.
My drivers have been screwed and Seagate sending me drives that are as dead as the one I shipped them has only set me back from reformatting. So I get lots of artifacting. I wasn't getting that in the demo though...
I played through 1st 2 levels n now gotta get ready to go in early for tutoring.
I enjoyed the randomness of encounters. I died at least 10 times at the beginning of level 2 so went about the battles in different ways until something worked, but the reinforcements always came at me differently, was a rush!
The AI is slightly retarded though. Was standing in a stairwell reloading and Korean just ran right past me!
It's pretty nice as it is so far but it could only get better over the patches and time.
It gave me the same feeling that Farcry did when I played it on my 5700, then eventually stepped up to 7900's. I can't wait to see how nice it will be in a few years.Last edited by DeathWish187; November 14th, 2007 at 07:50 PM.

I found this a bit odd. I was having fun w/the physics so I tossed every interactable object I could find to barricade myself in while I pick off guys that kept coming in.
It's like the ghost of boxes.

Crysis is amazing. My 8800GT came in and I can run the game on maximum settings with only a few hitches when dealing with a lot of glare and scenery. Otherwise runs just fine. Pretty awesome.. Don't have any money for the full game though. Can't afford anything coming out this year or next.

Was really hoping the Full version would give a little boost as I had managed to make a nice config to get around 30FPS in the demo on XP everything high with some of the nice DX10 features on, was hoping to gain a few FPS.
As for the SLI its reported that 169.09 has given many a boost of anywhere up to 40% although I don't have SLi so can't confirm.E6400 @ 3Gig | 4Gig Corsair PC6400 @ 800 | P5N-E SLI 650i | HD4850 | 2 x 250 WD2500JS RAID 0 | Samsung 940BW

Hey guys , since this is a thread about Crysis, would a :
Quad Core at 2.4
2GB of DDR2 800
7900 GS
Would this be able to play Crysis good or even decent

I can play the demo on medium setting at 1280-1024 and it plays decent. Still looks pretty good to IMO.(specs in sig)
You should be able to play it on medium at least, if not a little bit higher because of your GPU.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

7900GS is pretty much a 7800gtx in performance IIRC...that and the cpu should yield you med-high settings @ 1024x768 smooth, and med settings at 1280x1024 smooth.
I know I'm pulling off med-high setting smooth on my x1950pro, but you cpu is a good deal better.

see above. although i imagine it would run it very nicely.
i played it a little bit but it just didn't have the hype i was expecting. i'd rather play battlefield 2142 tbh...maybe that's just me.
but to be fair, i need to sit down and give the demo a really good workout, before deciding to buy.

Hehe just tried Crysis in DX10 mode at 1280 x 768 Maximum settings, its pretty nasty 11FPS in the benchmarks, which will probably translate to about 1 FPS when actually playing. Man its a beast.
Gonna try dropping textures down as no dout my VRAM usage is taking a massive beating, maybe try medium and everything else Very High see what sort of impact that has.
Does anyone know of a program like Rivatuner I can use to monitor VRAM in Vista, Rivatuner says something about Vista managing it differently as so can't display it like it does in XP.
[EDIT]
Slightly off the Crysis topic but this is why I noticed it, has anyone been able to choose any 16:10 ratios in Crysis, only 1440 x 900 is available, if I ever plan to play Vista I need lower ones, but they just arent there. Even checking supported modes in my 8800 options they aren't listed.Last edited by Achay; November 20th, 2007 at 09:11 AM.

CRYSIS
Just played the single player demo and it was KICK ASS.
Discuss.

the full game has been out for like a month now...... why would we discuss the demo?...
-

Indeed, the game has been out for a bit. In fact, if you do a search on TIMO, there is 2-3 threads on the game already.
Although I agree the single player is pretty kick ass, the multiplayer blows IMO. I'm normally all about the multiplayer, so the game all in all wasn't all it was hyped to be.
Just my two cents of course.Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

I was talking about discussing, the game, not just the demo.
However it appears my eyes are bad and they'res already a thread for this.
