Battlefield 2 online server problems

I get kicked out of the online servers immediately upon entering a game: the message posted states that I don't have enough O/S privledges. How does one even get to play online initially without being immediately kicked off?

your getting a permissions error from your OS? Are you on a limited user account?

What OS are you running?

Make sure you have the latest version of Punkbuster installed:

http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Download that, run it, and use it to manually update all your games that use Punkbuster, assuming Punkbuster hasn't already been updated.

And yeah, what nemowolf said. Make sure you're not on a limited user account. But try that punkbuster update first.

Your probably using Vista, which means you need to right click the shortcut icon for BF2 on the desktop and choose run as administrator.

This is due to PB having to run. Thus by doing so PB runs as a service, which means you need to grant that permission. Does the error make sense now?

Not all servers have PB on BTW.

EDIT- Old!

battlefield 2 online problem :(

I just installed the lastest 1.50 patch for battlefield 2, and everytime i join a game a little box pops up saying,

( This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of battlefield 2 to the current offical version to join.)

I did have battlefield 2 installed in the past, and I was big into downloading mods, but that was a long time ago, and Im fairly sure that I do not have any mods installed on my computer now. please help me

Uninstall the game and reinstall it with the new patch? Start out fresh with no mods or modded content.

(possibly some old files or required BF2 files were modded with the mods, but never reverted to old version since they may have been needed BF2 files for the game to run)

Its also possible the servers your joining haven't updated to version 1.5 with all the changes and fixes it contains Battlefield Blog

those servers could be seeing your updated version as a "mod" from what they see as default content.

problems still :(

ok I uninstalled the game. and I installed it again, and then once i try to start the 1.50 patch it gets about 1 quater of the way through and says, ( You already have a newer version installed). Now, I don't see how that is possible because I completly uninstalled the game. But I did notice, that once I installed the game, I went into single player, and all of the maps you receive from 1.50 patch, are already in my game list. PLEASE HELP ME!!

Uninstall Punkbuster and reinstall. Make sure your firewall has the PB port open.

how did you uninstall the game, it should of uninstalled everything, then possibly left old folders in the EA folder it installs BF2 into, if not, its possible there is a folder in My Documents that has the added content, as soon as you install a new copy, the game will detect that folder and show the new maps, etc...

you have to delete all the folders of saved games, additional content, etc, besides uninstalling the game.
