as the 9600 Grafix card has been sugested and discussed ive been taking many hours into looking it up online seeing problems and positive sides about it, and iver come to find out that 9600 got some black screen of death problem, if you search 9600 and "black screen" there is a load of people posting there problems they have had with there cards,
is this something that happens to a few, or to everyone or is this a card i shuld stay away from, as the price looks right for my budget, id like to buy one but not if it is going to mess up after a few weeks,

the only references to a "black screen" associated with 9600's, is to old ATI cards
Not Nvidia cards
The Nvidia 9600 is possibly the best bang for buck card available right now |

Remember that oftentimes people's GPU problems are not actually with the GPU. Often they have an underpowered or low quality power supply that causes it. Until now I haven't heard a major complaint against the 9600. A good place to get a good selection of reviews is Newegg. Remember that most people posting problems on forums are doing so because.... they are having problems. They don't post if everything is working as it should. On Newegg you'll see both sides. |

I see there is a bunch of different 9600 cards, all of them with 2 or 3 different letters behind them, i'm quite unsure what they stand for, and witch one that would be the best for what im trying to do... "Games" and lots of "games" here is a link to Newegg on one of the 9600 cards and to be honest the comments are kinda scary http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130329
I assume that if it was a major issue than the cards would be recalled or something, still plz tell me witch card that would be good for me as i am clueless i assume they are all good but sense there is different cards on the same 9600 than i assue there will be some cards that may suit my needs better than others, just my 2 cents.
any clues or ideas would be awsome ill be getting one of these cards soe time between monday to thursday.

I was surprised by those reviews, but also remember that only 10% gave a bad review, so its a gamble. imho that is too many. I would now suggest either an 8800GT or an 8800GTS 512MB. Do NOT get the 320MB or 640MB versions as they are outdated and don't give as good of a bang-for-your-buck. These cards are a little more expensive but seem to be more reliable. |

What I see is an almost 75% good to better rating on a brand new card that may be having minor driver issues and then throw in some user stupidity, and poor power supplies and you have a pretty good overall rating in my opinion
Theres a review in there stating, its a dell upgrade and their old card works fine
Wanna bet their old underpowered Dell PSU cant handle the power uppage, or that it doesnt even have a 6 pin connector? |
