| What to do in World of Warcraft
hey guys,
yes yes, it finally happened, I caved, I bought WoW.
I do have a few questions tho.
1: Is it possible to create multiple players, in multiple realms, like in Diablo2??
2: What would be a good start character for hacking and slashing??
3: Are there any nice starter tips outside the manual??
4: Is there stuff like magic find and all that, or does everything have to be bought/found??
Not really near my home computer, so no option to look in the manual for myself.
thanks for any help

yeah, I figured as much, downloading from Techpowerup @ 2.2MB/s
I think I'll start with the Night Elf Warrior or paladin.
In which realm is the TechIMO clan, if we have that?? |

You should have just asked in the WOW thread. If this thread already won't be merged.
2. Any class can fill this in pretty much, but if your concerned with lvl'ing fast you may way want to go for dps'er, or at least dps spec while lvl'ing. (not including hunters kk)
3. thottbot, allakhazam, wowwiki, wowhead
And it doesn't really matter what kind of advice we give to a noob because you prolly won't have an idea what the hell we talkin' bout just yet. There are plenty of guides around though you might want to check out. AFAIK a bunch of TechIMO'ers are over on Stormrage Horde side. |

I wanted to add that if you want a solo'able character to get you quickly, cheap, and exciting from 1-70, go Beast Mastery Hunter. Completely soloable with limited grind because your pet is your tank. Since he is taking all the damage, you dont have repair bills. You do have to spend a bit to get ammo, but its cheap compared to repairing expensive plate armor on a warrior. Ive never spent more then a gold on ammo and ive seen warriors drop serious cash repairing just to get slaughtered and have to repair again. Since your solo, you have to REALLY be careful about what your doing so you tend to have some exciting adventures running away from trains of mobs. You also have an edge on some quests because of tracking.
Sure, your not the best DPS build, cant take a hit for anything, and you tend to be the last one standing cause you can feign death ... but its plenty of fun! |

There's already too many hunters, so if anything, roll a lock, way more funnerer to lvl.
I kind of take that back tho cuz, lock was my first character, during the trial. After I got into the game I couldn't stand him until after my hunter was 70. That gave me a better idea of how to play the class. It didn't begin to get fun until I got him to mid 20's and figured out how to play the class. But either way, lock > hunter, any day.

You had to think much further ahead with the lock and be completely aware of your mana, spells, refresh, surroundings and have a good knack of knowing when to stick with it and survive or cut and run.
I found it a touch too difficult to deal with in the earlier levels without someone to get you some decent gear. |

I prefer my Hunter to any class I have played. Look into add ons that will help out along the way. |
