PS3 HELP URGENT!!

I've waited over a year to play mgs4 well I went out and bought a brand new ps3(40gig) cause I only want to play this game. And bought the game. I came home, hooked it all up. I turn the power switch in the back to on and the little red/green indicator light does not come on. Nothing happens. I plugged other stuff in the outlet to check that and they all work perfect. I've got all the plugs all the way into the device, all the cables hooked perfectly. But nothing. I bought the ps3/game at a store that is two hour drive one way away from me so if it is broke out of the box I am going to go make them wish they did not come into work today.

When powering up the PS3 hold the power button (on the ps3 itself) 5 for seconds until it beeps, that will cause it to do a reset and rescan the video its connected to

just bought msg4 myself and just finished installing

I just talked to a sony support rep for 7 minutes asking me idiot questions if it was hooked up right is your switch on. Is the tv good. They then told me to take it back to where I bought it. At that point I said nice to see you stand behind your devices and hung up. It works now, and I am going to play. You're my new hero!

I had a similar issue
I started playing it on a standard CRT tv
Then I got my new LCD and it wouldn't display on it
Whenever you go from one tv to another where the 2nd tv doesn't support the original tv's resolution it may cause this to happen

simple fix is a display reset on the ps3
