Is there any way to download aoe2 for free or a free game like it??

as far as Legally for AOE2, no, however their may be some free games that are similar to it, open source possibly...
for starters maybe check out sites like Gamers Hell, they have a whole section of Free Games to download, many are open source or similar... Fullgame Download Archive - GamersHell.com
though you'd have to cycle through the whole archive they have over there...
but its a start, also could check out Fileplanet, filefront, etc etc (many other similar sites, and could even do a google search for Open Source Games or Open Source Real Time Strategy or something similar)

was just going to say that, illegal stuff will not be discussed here. can earn a thread closing/deletion or even a ban if its severe enough.
