You should just be able to run it. I believe its based on the same engine used in oblivion and that wasn't that demanding. |

Don't know where you came up with that, Oblivion was the predecessor to Crysis as far as demanding & bringing top end systems to its knees... even gives current top end systems a run for their money still, jack up resolutions, turn on AA and HDR, long distance objects & shadows to max & watch the frames Tank...
It uses the same basic engine, but willing to bet its got better features/effects, hopefully more efficient running... etc.
those specs should be able to play it, but no one can really say until the game comes out, or at least some better reviews of it, just prior to release. |

Ive played Oblivion and Crysis both all the way though.
Oblivion was on 100% graphics. --- 70-100 FPS
Crysis was on 60% graphics. --- 50-70 FPS
Cysis on 100% Graphics --- 5-12 FPS
Please don't say shit that aint true, Crysis was released after Oblivion and it is also a larger resource hog than oblivion or fallout 3.
Oblivion was not Crysis's predecessor especially not in any genre terms as Crysis was a action FPS and Oblivion was a action RPG.
EDIT: Crysis is the type of game the majority of us gamers will have to wait a decade for computer hardware to catch up with what the game can do. Not to say were going to wait with a copy of Crysis in our hands when they release the P5 tri-core but the engine is still there and another game developer will probably pick-it-up by then or something similar in quality.

Shyguy also try looking anything up before you say it is a pretty good way not to be flamed/look like a dork.
Fallout 3 is going to have sys req's very similar to Oblivion and even someone with a crummy old P4 (non dualcore) and a 256 MB video card can play Fallout 3 allbeit with crappy graphics, but atleast it runs. |

Back to the original question.
The 7600GT I know could do Oblivion at mid-high settings (I have one, well two now , so I should know). The 8600GT is a hair faster than the 7600GT (2 or 3 fps at very most), so my guess it that you will be able to do around low-med (more towards med) settings since Fallout 3 is going to be more graphically intense. Unless you have a really large resolution of course.

I read what Shyguy said more than once and understood it completely furthermore if you had interpreted my post properly would've realised I took issue to the reference of Oblivion releasing after Crysis which is tottaly false.
I agree they are both computer hogging games as well, but comparing Oblivion to Crysis in system killing terms is laughable. Your watching a JPEG slideshow when you maximize settings in Crysis whereas in Oblivion it has a much much higher top end FPS and a more consistent minimum FPS.
I flame people for such statements of blatant retardism and not ashamed to admit it or do so. |

pred·e·ces·sor ( pr d -s s r, pr d -) n.1. One who precedes another in time, especially in holding an office or position. 2. Something that has been succeeded by another: The new building is more spacious than its predecessor. |

welcome to TechIMO, Frice.
If you expect to last around here, it would behoove you to be polite. We're always up for a good discussion, but name calling and flaming will get you gone fast. Quote: |

| And who said that? Try reading the thread again. Shyguy said, "Oblivion was the predecessor to Crysis ." and you defined it. The word means "came before," which is what Oblivion did. It came before Crysis and set the bar for system performance.

Frice, I can tell you this, your not going to last long here, especially to register here just to flame my post & not actually read my post, Pullmyfoot is 110% right, on what I said.
"I flame people for such statements of blatant retardism and not ashamed to admit it or do so."
then you can consider yourself pretty much banned at this point...
Either your Illiterate or 2 years old, because obviously you can't read...
"Oblivion was the predecessor to Crysis as far as demanding & bringing top end systems to its knees..."
like pullmyfoot said you might want to try & read the actual post first before intentionally flaming ones post.
"I read what Shyguy said more than once and understood it completely furthermore if you had interpreted my post properly would've realised I took issue to the reference of Oblivion releasing after Crysis which is tottaly false. "
Obviously you didn't read it & completely understand what I said if I am here telling you this & also agreeing with Pullmyfoot.
so tell you what, your posts are getting reported for blatant & intentional harassment & Flaming... |
