UT server Question.

This is more directed at Shadowhaxor, but anyone with the knowledge please chime in...

When creating a Dedicated Server, how do you get it to be published, so anyone can play?

Also I am behind a Router so I'd Imagine that I use the IP Address given to me by my ISP(Roadrunner cable) rather than the one given by my router to give to people looking to get on my server, right?

thing is when I set up a dedicated server, I can see it in my Lan server, but I have done a search of all UT servers, and the name never pops up. I am not sure if there are extra steps I need to take, or not. Is there a tutorial, or instructions posted someplace to help with this?

dont know about broadcasting the address, think you just set it up as a public server or something...
If you want a name out there, like ut.team-tnt.net you need a redirect! a dns entry somewhere.
As far as getting people to play, just let us know what your IP addy is!!
Its the one going to your router! and the server needs to be in the DMZ, know what I mean?

DMZ.. yes it is in the router settings. I have seen something on configuring the DMZ before. I will check into that end, and see if I can set it up correctly.

Hirschy is correct (see, I can spell ya name As far as getting it adverstised, as long as it is a public server, It will be gather by ngstats and the epic server listing. When you start the server, you have the option of making it public or private. Private as passworded and public as in anyone can join in at any given time.

Do your self a favor and install either UTpure or CHSP 5.0 to stop most lamers/bot users. It won't stop the experienced but it will get the n00bies...

I was wondering about the Bots & cheats thing also. I will do that.
Nothing worse than getting fragged before you take 2 steps everytime you spawn, because some @$$holE is cheating.
