| Dungeon Siege Multi Problems
Hey guys I'm having some trouble connecting to multiplayer games on Dungeon Siege. I've tried everything, reinstalled made sure all my ports are open. I even tried installing it on my laptop.
So to begin my friend brought his computer over one night and we were gonna play. He was able to host games and join games. I could only host games..when I tried to join the games he hosted I got a messege saying "Could not join game, because you have an incombatible version" How could this be if there have been no updates. and both games are out of the box new?
I tried it on two different computers. Recently I tried playing it again on my laptop at work, just to make sure my home network wasn't blocking it. Again I couldn't join any games, but I can host them.
PC Specs,
desktop:
p4, 1.6 256MB Ram, 3com network, geforce 3 64mb
laptop:
p4, 1.7 256 Ram 3com network, geforce 4 mobile 64mb.
Linksys wireless router
earthlink dsl. |

Hi, when does this error happen? like when you click multi and starts to connect, then some error happens? By any chance is it a burnt disc? cuz I burned mine for friend and he had some problems, and I burnt it 2 times on diff cpu's and it still had probs... |

I get the error whenever i click join. The messege of an incompatible game comes up when I try Internet, or network game. when I try to join a game in ZoneMatch it just counts down from 10 and then says there isn't a game at that IP. lol for once this isn't a burned game. I bought it from CompUSA about 2 weeks ago. The thing I was beginning to think was that someone bought the game before I got it, compusa has a bad habit of just putting a returned game back on the shelf right after it is returned. I know this because I used to work for them...BOO HISS!! I can get into Zonematch, log in, and even talk to other people on zonematch, I can even get details about different games, and when I try to join a game, if it has a password protection it asks for the password, so it seems like most of it is running. just the last connection isn't being made. |

mmn, this happend to me when my friend thought it would be a good idea to install a ad-on(extended invo) and I had that problem with the passworded games... if you'v d/led ANY ad-ons, then put them a new folder, or summin, but if not... try,... uh reinstalling AGEN, with you'v probly done allready like 3times or so...eh..

Could be a returned item Altho it seems that it would say something about an invalid CD Key or something (like in Quake games)

What OS are you using? When I was playing MechWarrior 4 (another game released/sold under the M$ name) I was using Windows 2000 and I couldn't play with anyone using Windows 98. I think we got it to work maybe once, that was it. I formatted the drive and re-installed Windows 98 on it and it worked like a charm.
Don't know if this is what's affecting you but thought I'd pass that along.
