    Recommended games

I'm alittle pissed, i built this awesome computer, but i don't have alot of games for it. I have a few but i've either finished them or got tired of them.

    I own:
    Crysis
    Crysis: Warhead
    Cryostasis
    World of Warcraft
    F.E.A.R. Platinum
    COD: WOW

Nearly all of them are shooters, and i'm so freakin tired of shooters, i'd like alittle variety but i have no idea what to look for.

I was thinking about RTS but only one i really have my eye out for isn't even out (Starcraft 2)

    Games i was looking at:
F.E.A.R 2 (heard it was short)
Farcry 2 (heard it wasn't good)
And thats all i can remember

If anybody know of any games (non shooters in perticular) please let me know.

If you played 'fear' you wont really want to play 'fear 2'.

'Dawn of war' is a RTS game that I played to death.
'Supreme commander' will give your rig something to do (especially when alot of units are on screen). Not a bad game either.

    KOTOR 1 & 2 are amazing RPG's (won't challenge your rig though).

Ive played a bit of 'Farcry 2' the missions get very repetative.....

I agree with Aaron of FC2. I've been working my way through it the last couple weeks, and I'm pretty bored with it. Seems like A LOT of running around. I'd rather just get straight to the point.
Anywho, are you one to sit and play online? Or are you a fan of single player missions?

I have supreme commander, just haven't got around to installing it on the new system,

I sometimes have the urge to play online, not alot though, i'm really more of the single player type person, but if its something like MMO's or mecha games like Armored Core then yea i'll play the hell out of them.

I sometimes play crysis online. but not religiously.

    Single Player:
    Bioshock
    Hawx
    Grid
Grand Theft Auto Series (the newest is kind of blah, but others were great)
Mirrors Edge- This will test your system with physics on

    Multi-Player

Call of Duty- Modern Warfare - IMO the best online PC shooter that's been put out
Team Fortress 2 - The game is odd at first, but I swear the more you play, the more addicted you get
CrimeCraft- The game is in beta right now, but it's kind of a mix between GTA series and WoW. It's interesting for sure. I'm part of the beta right now, and it's a fun game. BUT, I'm not really into WoW type games, so it really wasn't my thing. If they would let you go through the game without having to do the "quests" and other missions and such, I'd probably like it more. But I'm a FPS guy.
    Video here

Really, I play those the most. TF2 I play more then any game by far. I'm kind of burnt out on COD, but I've come back to it 3 or more times now. Still a great game.

The KOTOR series are really good games, can't wait for a new one to come out. I don't even like RPG's much but those two games are up there in my all time top 10.

I hate Far Cry 2. It was a big disappointment for me and it crashes way too much for my liking (don't know if any other guys on TIMO got crashes with the game).

I've just started playing Fallout 3 today (got it for Xmas 08) which seems fine so far, only played it for three hours, and a guy at work is always talking about mirrors edge at the moment so it may be good.

This is the game I really want next it's a shooter however:
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Karmas list is all good and i agree with the comment about GTA, the series seems to have run its course now.

Call of Juarez is a fun game. My buddy has it, and I've spent a little bit of time on it. Seemed like a fun game.
I had no issues with FC2 at all. Weird.

I really did'nt get on with 'call of juarez' the mixture of stealth and guns blazing was weird.

Fallout 3 is a great game played it to death..... Which reminds me, 'Oblivion' is another great game, or the ledgendary 'morrowind'

Get yourself some RTS games for a change.

    My favs are

Company of heroes (there are two expansions)
    Supreme commander
    Total War

They are all thinking man's games. I love Company of Heroes to bits. The other two are massive massive games that you may or may not like.

I finally decided to install Red Alert 3 after half a year of it sitting in my shelf. Playing it now. Its pretty cool Brings back memories of RA2 and the old RA series from way back.

If you like Supreme Commander, Give Total Annihilation a go (if you can find it). Its quite old, but at its time it was way ahead of anything else. And personally, I find it more fun then Supreme Commander its surprisingly pretty addictive as well haha.

Also, the C&C series is pretty fun also.

I still have my old copies of Starcraft and Total Annihilation, i use to play those 2 games all the time i love them!

I have supreme commander but a buddy is borrowing it i should really get it back i kinda want to play it.

I have fallout 3 and bioshock on PS3 though i should have got them for PC lol.

I hated KOTOR, i don't remember which one i played but a friend let me try it out and i hated the sword fighting method.

Only games i really have my eyes on now are Dawn of war 2, Starcraft 2, Bioshock 2. Course non are out lol

Now what about games like Neverwinter nights? is that one any good? I don't wanna buy a game and not like it since you can't return PC games.

What the hell is mirror's edge about? all i've seen on it is the stupid commercial with the chick running, doesn't really tell you much about the game.

Dawn of war 2 gets very boring... You end up just doing the same thing every level.... Multiplayer is okay but like sngle player gets old quick.

In a city where information is heavily monitored, agile couriers called Runners transport sensitive data away from prying eyes. In this seemingly utopian paradise, a crime has been committed and now you are being hunted. You are a Runner called Faith - and this innovative first-person action-adventure is your story.

Mirror's Edge™ delivers you straight into the shoes of this unique heroine as she traverses the vertigo-inducing cityscape, engaging in intense combat and fast paced chases. With a never before seen sense of movement and perspective, you will be drawn into Faith's world. A world that is visceral, immediate, and very dangerous. Live or die? Soar or plummet? One thing is certain, in this city, you will learn how to run.
It's a fun game for the most part.

Sigh, Karma is spot on as usual and always beating me to threads.

Karma have you been able to get on fellow Techmolian Voogru's Servers? This dude kicks ass as far as keeping most cheaters at bay and it is the best community I have been part of since the UTGMC in UT99. 5 bucks a month gets you a guaranteed spot.

    RTS:

I cannot believe you guys have left out Warcraft. I do not play but everyone seemingly loves it and the screenies look semi delicious.

My personaly favorite and why the Command and Conquers no longer get touched, World in Conflict.

    FPS:

Bioshock - The bar every other fps is now measured by

Fallout 3 - farming for crap gets old quick but there is enough variety and power cheats to keep you interested. I would say the game is really challenging with some what crappy AI (you are crawling, concealed) and the enemy lights you up across the map crap.

    Multiplayer:

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare - best game out since BF2/1942 Desert Combat. Soon we shall have Modern Warfare 2 which does not look like a dissapointment.

Counterstrike - People always forget the most popular online game outside of rts why?

Team Fortress 2 - Rocks in its own cartoonish way. Buy the orange box and enjoy 4 games for the price of one. All 4 games kick butt!

Mirror's Edge's commercial seem like it's all about a chick running because that's what it is. IMO it's a great game that really get's the adrenaline going, but because of the way the camera works you can get a bit dizzy (esp. with higher quality monitors/TVs).

The game seems like it's all about running because the main character basically uses her parkour abilities to always evade the police.

Seems like most of the PC games are geared towards FPS. They need to port some of the better fighting games over to PC. Get back to the old arcade days where you lined up your quarter to fight the winner of the next fight. I'd and will do that online all day long when I get my 360 and live account...

So i went to the store today, and they didn't have much in the PC gaming department... in fact most of it was crap, but i was looking at The Witcher and Never Winter Nights, both look cool and i was leaning towards The Witcher but i kinda wanna others opinions before i spend my money.
