| So I'm new to PC gaming, want to know about mods.
So far I have Crysis Maximum, and The Orange Box, soon to get Fallout GOTY. Anyway, I want to play around with various mods but, I have no idea where to get them, how to install/uninstall them and which ones to get. Is there anything I can read or look at to learn about mods and where I can get them? |

If your looking for mods google is a big help.
Most of the mods are explained some you gotta work out yourself.

Another well known source, first hit on google, using "Game Mods" as search terms... Video game mods - Mod DB
have used them to find some mods in past.
though usually I join or search for Forums and websites with communities that support and develop mods for that specific game, Oblivion comes to mind on that note.

ok well I downloaded a mod. ( FCFort ) singleplayer for Crysis. In the readme it says ''Installation
-----------------------------------------
1) Extract the "FCFort.zip" file into your Crysis\Mods directory.
2) To load the mod you can either load up Crysis and manually load the FCFort mod in the game's mod menu,
or you could create you own desktop shortcut by adding "-MOD FCFort" (without quotes) to the end of
the Target field of your Crysis desktop shortcut.
3) Once the mod has loaded, open the console by pressing the ¬ key, then type "map fcfort" (without quotes)
and hit ENTER to load the level.
Now I didn't have a Mods folder in the directory so I created one, and copied the files to the Mods folder. But there is no mods option when i put in Crysis. What am I doing wrong? |
