    can't install MW2

I just bought Modern Warfare 2 and I can't install the second disk. It says to insert disk 2 but it won't read it.

I returned it for another copy so this is the second copy I am trying and it doesn't work either.

    It installs disk one fine.

Anybody know why my drive won't read the second disk? Could it be my drive? I don't have another drive to try it on. I have never had a problem with it before.

dragon age release wasn't really that bad. Some people are just too stupid to understand what a release date is.
and yes, the multiple layers of sign-ups is retarded.

well i still can't get it to read disk 2 but i tried to reinstall the game and it came up with a message saying it was updating the game.

So after a 1.5 hour download/update the game worked and I can now play the game in single player and online play.

I still don't know what is on the second disk but it seems that the game works fine now so I guess it doesn't really matter. Really strange.....

Im in the same boat as you dude disk doesnt work on everybodys disk drive this is also my second copy of MW2 just tried it in the other computers IDE disk drive and works fine but my SATA in this pc wont read at all the only thing i can recommend is getting a disk drive the is confirmed working or register the cd key with steam and download it manually. Activision you utter dissapointment ! why make disk 1 work and not disk 2 Grrr.....

wonder if its the copy protection/anti piracy software that they use, I know some games, when you install it, it works fine but the when you go to play the game, the game does a disc check and the software used to check, doesn't play nice with some drives and returns a message telling you not use a back up and use the original disc, meanwhile the original disc is in the drive.

might be something similar thats going on, IW/Activision F'ing up with something like that on the 2nd disc.
