Karma is going to hate me but I purchased it for pc and he warned me. All in all it is an ok (7 out of 10) game albiet large maps for so few players.
It should be noted that ONLY ground war mode has 18 players servers. Groundwar is a combination TDM/Domination (Capture Points).
I want my money back. Constantly connecting to a new host when people rage quit or lagging on their crappy connection is old already in my 3rd day.

No, DM and TDM are up to 12. 12 player seems to be about the average.
I was on a server last night and had to re establish host connection 3 times in 5 minutes and every connection lagged to the point that it was obvious IW may have checked ping but did not check connection stability of said host. Aggravating and UNDOUBTEDLY the last PC game I will ever purchase without dedicated servers even if it does cause more cheating.

Yeay! 4th day and I just got off of a "cheat" server (thought this was not possible). Getting botted across the map by several guys with some DT clan designation. They were laughing that tonight they should have ranked up/earned enough perks so they can nuke with the 25 killstreak perk. LOVELY! It was 4 on 9 and no one in the server could switch sides.
The more I play CODMW2 the more it stinks. No one can say I did not give it an honest shake. My opinion is that without community policing (dedicated servers) AVOID THIS GAME unless you believe 60 bucks is worth 6 hours of single player game play.

I played MP on 360 and only had one host change happen in about 5 hours of gaming.

i don't know what's worse. The fact that some lame kid was hosting that long, or the fact that you were playing long enough to find out.

Good job, friend-of-friends!

I didnt notice any issues or bullshit kills on my side. *shrugs* Im not saying this is the best method and wish dedicated servers were put into place, but its not like a lot of people are running around with 56k modems these days.

I was playing last night for maybe 2-3 hours, i only had two hosts that just sucked. The first was so obvious i just sat in a corner and prayed i could get a kill. Everyone with a mic was bitching about the shitty host connection.
"Who ever is hosting needs to get a real internet connection... *Host Drops*" - Nemo
"I didn't realize i was the rubberband man ... When did TI start copying Kanye with the interuptions? *Host Drops*" - Nemo
After that it was hoping that the clansmen didnt come in to really offset the sides. Or that annoying lil english kid who sounded like he was 8 and should have been in school calling us yanks all sorts of rubbish.

I was being condescending to a previous poster Ground. There are cheaters in every game with or without vac and punkbuster. Only two glaring examples in four days is not that bad. When it is so obvious I simply disconnect and find a new server. Pointless going on a tirade when it is not your server and you have no control.
Nemo, fyi there is a feature embedded in the games gui to disable chat. I did that already! I am with you on that one. Mic spammers get old quick.
Food for thought! I am sure that we could get 18 Techmolians with good connections to host private everynight. I will figure this out and post back later. I ponder if you actually have to be playing or if you can idle and host. I doubt that.
I will start a thread later on steam ids or what have you and maybe if we all add one another and only play on our own private "server" things will become more enjoyable. Does Timo have an official CODMW2 "Captain?" General gaming General?

LAWLS!!! General Gaming General!
Well, the only problem is that im sure many of us have the same concern i do in that i dont want to just have my name in one static thread that is going to be web crawled and used for spamming purposes. I know i put it up somewhere but i already forgot what thread. We have the Crossfire thread though ...
If you guys are okay with it, we can start a thread on your "Contact" info and you put your Live, Steam, Xfire, PSN, SOE, WoW, EQ, etc account names so we can contact you about stuff.

now, is this the game that PC and Xbox players can game together? I'm still interested in getting the game, though borderlands is getting more of the nod for the multiplayer game I would play with my kid, my best friend and his kid...the characters meet each of our needs surprisingly.
However, I may pop for a rental or even for the actual game...I haven't got much of a friends list on Xbox live yet to play with. Actually, the only gaming I've done on Live! is one session of DOA4 and a short session of Halo3.
If interested, my Gamertag is RedFuryIIIthis post contains small bits of intelligence culminating to the appearance of wisdom.

This prompts me to ask the DC guys how they got the google docs spreadsheet to work properly in here ...
Would be easier to just maintain one google doc and update as the first page instead of scrolling through pages of updates, replies, and gamertags.

Well RobRich sorted out the code for us and I used this to put it in my post.
Also if you want me to start a google doc I can? Did we want xbox live and steam names?[gspread ](put the web code here) [/gspread]
Also no, COD MW2 is not a cross platform game.... I only know of a couple... I have Shadowrun and Lost planet. Sins of a solar empire is another I have heard is cross platform.Last edited by Aaron_8015; November 19th, 2009 at 09:46 PM.
