Steam is **** unless someone has an answer to this
Hello, I made an account specifically to badmouth steam because of this stupidly simple problem that cannot be solved due to their piss poor customer service.
I had my steam account tethered to an e-mail, per their demands. This has not been a problem until today, when I found out that some dlc for a game I bought wasn't working. Long story short, the solution to this problem involves my e-mail which has been deleted due to inactivity. Again, this wouldn't be a problem if I could just re-bind my account to one of my actively used e-mails, however they keep sending a confirmation code to a non-existing account.
Knowing that this was a loop of stupidity, I try to go to their forum for help, yet they require a code that once again gets sent to the e-mail in order to allow your account to be logged in through the browser. Again, knowing I'm screwed on this end, I try to find some way I can call them, but low and behold, they're too cheap to pay customer service reps.
So please, to anyone who gives a damn about steam, please tell me some way I can side step this sheer retardedness before I personally murder each member of valve and any associating companies/people with their own intestine.

You need to contact Steam support:
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...1223-QROC-4460
It will have you setup a temp account, and a rep will be able to transfer the account email.
I would highly suggest that you utilize one of your main email accounts for Steam. They never send you (AFAIK) newsletter emails or junk mail, so why wouldn't you?
Welcome to TechIMO. Watch your language, please, and do try and think about which email addresses you associate with which services.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

Thank you for the calm and polite response, I was expecting something more viscous after that rage fueled rant I posted. I've set up 2 support tickets, and nothing, which is causing my rage to go up a wee bit more.
And yes, I was going to associate it with one of my more active accounts today, but as I said for some reason they require me to confirm with my old e-mail. Frankly, I don't understand this, as if someone is already in their account, why would they need to verify it? After all, if someone wanted to mess with someones account badly enough, these petty defense measures won't mean jack.
Edit: Ok, I pulled some teeth at AT&T and got my e-mail control restored, so I'll move on to the problem itself now.
I bought the Ikko Ikki DLC for shogun 2, and it won't let me use it. I don't use mods and I was litterally playing ti just fine last night, and there was nothing abnormal going on. Anyone know what to do?Last edited by Koganesaga; July 1st, 2011 at 03:33 PM.

Glad to hear you got your account restored.

As to the game, I would suggest starting a new thread detailing the issue. You'll get a better response from more members that way.Good job, friend-of-friends!
