High latency in WoW with fast internet
Hey guys, I'm having a problem and was hoping someone could offer some advice. I'm having pretty high latency every night playing World of Warcraft, around 300-400ms world. My home lat is almost always lower, only around 100-150ms. I live on the east coast and play on a west coast server so I realize my lat is going to be a little higher but I don't think it should be anywhere near where it is. I ran a speed test and I got 30.76 mbps download and 21.56 mbps upload. I have Verizon Fios internet and my computer is hooked straight in to the modem, less than a foot away. I have an Intel(R) 82567V-2 Gigabit network adapter, and have tried updating the drivers for it. Thanks in advance if anyone can offer any help!

Are you using XP? I have heard that the half open ports limit in Windows can have a negative effect on WOW. Try this. www.LvlLord.de - Tipps, Tricks & Utilities - Tools

I have Windows 7, I went in to the registry and 'EnableConnectionRateLimiting' wasn't in there so I guess it's already disabled.

It is!
Hey, mikef8705. What exactly did fix the problem? Was it the registry fix or getting rid of the patches?

Production IG is doing a new Ghost in the Shell series starting in June. It's a four episode OVA of the origin story of Section 9, and it's got all new voice actors. It's going to be strange hearing...
