Should I visit Arkham City 360?
Hello Folks,
So... is it any good?
I'm a big fan of AC games due to the open world and ability to... well, do just about anything! This is why I'm also a GTA fan and RDR fanatic (RDR is my favorite game ever which surprises a lot of gamers for some reason, it was the graphics, game play options, lots of achievements, setting, multiplayer and... everything else).
Depth is everything. If the open world just means running to different mobs and killing them, not sure I'd like it. In AC there are other things too: buying art to increase your revenue, have packs of courtesans follow you about, ride on a horse, etc. How many "side" options are there to take part in? How many side quests? What kinds of side quests are we talking about? Races? What else other than beating folks up is there?
I really saw potential in Spiderman 2 for PS2 (I think that's the one I have... I'm at work and can't check). I liked that you could either be on top of a building or on the ground level. I didn't like that options were so limited as to what you could do on the ground level or that people kept repeating themselves.
I really do like how in the videos I saw you can listen on on some sort of audio surveillance as Batman? That is totally up my ally. Does he even have bat senses or something? Totally cool.
One thing that I'm not sure about is the graphics. I did see some videos on YouTube of Arkham and there's a question I have. The graphics... are they any good? The videos of Batman I saw have him looking rather squat or cartoony or something, I'm sure that's either the video size or my eyes as I'm reading everywhere that the graphics are amazing. But graphics mean a lot to me. Spiderman 2 failed in that arena. AC rocks as far as graphics are concerned. The realistic motions in AC are amazing, the shoulders turning to avoid pedestrians, all that. Is Batman that "animated?"
I'm a big Nightwing fan. I realize that content is DLC. So my question is is it worth it? I read you can only be Nightwing in some specific mode and that the campaigns are limited with him. What mode is that? What does that mean? It says no free roam as Nightwing... why not? Does it matter?
Also I like looking at pretty things. How does Catwoman play? Can she be used in free play?
How many questions can I pack in this message? A few hundred more? Several hundred more?
I do have GameFly but I'm playing Rage at the moment and then my GF is getting us Gears 3 (we're big fans of the series) so I doubt I'll be seeing Batman any time soon through GF. I'm thinking of outright buying it! So I really need to know if it's worth the money as I am strapped for cash but can never turn down a good quality game.
Thanks.Last edited by Interrupt; November 4th, 2011 at 11:54 AM.

Never played any of the Batman games

I don't know why but I always felt games based on pre-existing things are hoakey (spelling). I never gave any comic book, movie, etc. game a chance (beside from Spiderman 2 which I received as a gift). I think it all started after I received X-Files for PS... very crappy. But I'm learning that view is false when applied generally.Last edited by Interrupt; November 4th, 2011 at 11:56 AM.

I don't think Angelcat would forgive me. Remember, CaaTs are angels with fur. Plus Topp Caat would probably beat me up. :D  CaaTs tend to stick together on those things....
