I've been really itching for a game of Dystopia but this looks like fun! The classes look cool.

thats something I could get into maybe, Coop mode, rather than Player/Team vs Player/Team gameplay.

Right now it looks like only 6 players can play so you have a bunch of people sitting in spectated mode waiting for someone to bail out.

Oh... not everyone can run it? Just the developers on their own servers?
I'd gladly host a server if anyone was interested (if you can just host a server that is).“Arguing with anonymous strangers on the Internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be—or to be indistinguishable from—self-righteous sixteen-year-olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.” ― Cryptonomicon

You can setup your own server

Anyone can run their own server, like GZ linked to. I setup 5 servers night before last for my gaming community. 3 of them are password protected, and 2 of them are public.
Add me on steam if you guys want to join up.

I just did the instructions in the youtube video and it worked, took me only 5 minutes
For some reason I cant get public people to join in

yeah, if I was able to set up or join a private server I would consider it, but jumping into a public server with a ton of people I really don't know, I might not be willing to consider something like that.
granted for our ArmA 2 server, we have it open for public to come in, but when I'm on its usually me and a friend or two at same time, but with 12 slots, its usually enough for us and some other randoms to be in at one time.
With my luck I'd get stuck with a ton of lone wolfs and rambo's not willing to cooperate.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

Once you try the game, you'll see one person can't really screw it up for you. It's not really THAT based on teamwork. I played for a few hours lastnight with some friends, and 3 of them had never played before, and did just fine. So you really don't need to worry about baddies.

August 17th, 2012, 01:44 PM #12Firewall? I had the same problem with Dystopia. Only LAN folk & Hamachi (VPN/virtual LAN obviously) worked. Had to config it on firewall.

so kind of like TF2's version of L4D? Coop, but not really needed to be TEAM play?
I know one game I'd like to start up again, and get some coop in is Dead Island, as I never got too far into that, tried to get a couple friends interested and buy it, they got interested, and that was about as far as I got LOL.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

I'd love to play it with you if I can, my version isn't exactly kosher (not advocating such, by the way but not much I can do about it now, I'm willing to buy a copy). As is, I can setup a LAN via Hamachi and do local multiplayer? Not sure... if I can do it, I'd gladly play with you.

I'll have to see if a LAN or internet server can be set up, not sure if that game was limited to developer servers over steam or if private ones can be set up.
Hopefully my slightly faster system can run the game a tad better than before, less stutter and hiccups.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green
