Doom Add-on Level
OK everybody, I need some help. I used to play Doom with a buddy of mine with our modems; I'd dial his computer and we'd have a game of 'death-op'. (Co-op that turns into death-match because he ran in front of me when I was killing stuff, then he'd get POed and come back and kill me. I'd get POed at him because I had lots of ammo, so I'd kill him and so on.
)
Anyways, I remember playing one level in particular that I have been unable to find or remember the name of. I remember that it was super cool and REALLY hard; no way you could do it on single player. The final level was a courtyard with columns around and like 17 cyberdemons running around. I don't think there was a single level in it that didn't have a CD or three. (Like I said, really cool level.
)
It was a regular episode replacement, so 8 or 9 levels for Doom 1. I remember that somebody reviewed it and said that 17 CDs was a more than a little extreme. That's about all I can remember about it, other than I killed the last CD running at it full-speed with the last shot from my plasma rifle just as his rocket impacted my head. (My buddy had a great view, as I saved him from said rocket.
)
Does anybody remember a level like this? If so, do you by chance know the name of it or where I can DL it?About 5% of the people in the world can't think.

The remaining 90% can think, but don't.

for starters, I believe that CyberDemons weren't introduced until Doom 2. So you might try that to narrow down your search... (I could be wrong, I haven't played Doom(2) in a long time either)

I won't be much help but I remember playing Doom over the LAN with my dad. It used to be great when we'd both jump through a teleporter right after each other almost at the same time. For some reason we'd both die.

Actually it was Doom 1. The cyberdemon was the boss at the end of episode 2 and also in the secret level of episode 3. This was long before Doom 2 came out. (I know this because I vividly remember getting Doom 2 at my local Best Buy three days before it was supposed to be released because I knew a guy who worked there.
I was so cool back then!

LOL I don't remember where we got Doom from. I think it was at a local computer show.
I remember my dad used to play Doom2 even last year.
He knows where every monster and every secret level is in the entire game. It's unbelievable.

There are actually updates for the game that revise the engine and stuff. Gives you mouse look, look/aim up/down, jumping ability, excellent light sourcing, multi-play over tcp, etc. I still think it's one of the best FPS for feeling and atmosphere.

ok I have found:
ASDOOM - the entire asdoom series, replacing levels E1M1 - E1M9 a whole episode free! Possibly 9 of the very best levels that you will EVER play!
BEWARNED - This is my first wad and I got a little carried away with the monsters. If you are a novice be warned. The secrets will provide all that is needed to win.
ok well It just took me about 45 minutes too look through 1-9,A,B,C so I think I'll stop now. As you can see there are heaps of WADS on this cd, I cant even remember where i bought it now it was a few years back!
I guess you should just search the net fanatically if you want it

I've been going through every single review and wad description on a somewhat extensive level site. (Have yet to find the right one though.)
I've searched the 'net frantically for too long already (about a month off and on before posting here) and am no closer to finding it than when I started.
The doom update I was referring to is jDoom with DoomsDay, available at http://www.doomsdayhq.com/ I suggest getting the version just *before* he updated it for DirectX 7, as anything afterwards dies on my system. (Even though I have DX8.
)
Now that you mention something Matty... I think I have a doom level CD around here somewhere too. I remember buying it at Target on sale, but can't remember where I put it. Guess I gotta start searching!About 5% of the people in the world can't think.
