Online games for low spec PC's
The ultimate question: which games can you run on low spec pcs that dont have lots of bugs and are fun to play?
My friend and I play games online, consisting of half life, tfc and occasionally Jedi knight.
The problem is we've been playing these for a while and we're getting sick of them.
The computer in question can run tfc without too much problems, but another half life mod, like counterstrike is out of the question.
Can anyone suggest games we can buy and play, or games online that would keep us occupied, or even sites where we can find games like this.
thanks.
Ah, one other thing, i was trying to find something that would be like the creature on black and white, where we could train them up then fight them, but the only things i found were neopet etc, any suggestions for this kind of thing would be good.

The challenge just got harder.System Specs:

I don't think UT2003 would fit that list. The original UT might though. I'd try that. The original Quake would but I'm not sure if that's multiplayer. Quake II would probably work but only at lower settings. Generally any game that was made 2 or 3 years ago would fill the bill. Lucky for you since those games are really cheap right now.

Total Annihilation is great. Also recommended is Heroes of Might and Magic 2.
Misfortune, n. The kind of fortune that never misses.

Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them.

and one broodwar/starcraft you guys can make maps and play em. you don't want to know how long i spent tweaking some map settings maps beacuse some of the triggers were messed up. and all the attempted ones i keep trying to make but never finish.

UT2003 won't work on low end systems. It needs a decent machine with a fast processor and graphics card, and lots of memory.

We've got Total Annihilation, its a pretty good game, but the problem with that kind of game is that it normally takes a long time to complete online, and my friend has BT hometime, so it kicks him off every 2 hours. We've been playing Age of empires 2, thats pretty good once you get the hang of which button to press to get them to do things, lol.
Beleive it or not, pong wont work on his computer, that is, the 3D recent version just cant be played.
We tried Jedi Knight 1, which works fine except that due to a bug in his system, half the hits people make on his character dont register, so its really frustrating to play.System Specs:

Why not has anyone mentioned CounterStrike?
You can still do software rendering for that and its got a superlarge following. Anything else that has a low spec requirement is not played as much.
Though, I would recommend Tribes.New Dad since 07/06/2005

What about Delta Force 1 and Delta Force 2? Or SWAT 1 or 2? I don't know if SWAT 1 or 2 are on-line games, I only played SWAT 3. The good thing is, you can get all these games real cheap! Especially if you look for those 3-packs. I've seen the Delta Force Trilogy for like $15-$20.
