i hate xbox, it only has halo, and nfs2 for its good games i feel. ps2 has a broad range of games, and vice city owns j00. so i like ps2 more. but i am open to other good points for xbox too.

Both systems are quite capable.!
If you want to know which is best (or really .... which one some of us prefer) refer to other threads in this forum!!

BTW, I would buy gta for PS2 (more variety!

only Halo eh? Try Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon(which will go multi console, but hold on), Unreal, and more. Xbox has Xbox Live which is far and I mean FAR better than PS2's online service. Voice chat in ALL games. PS2 doesnt do that. Im not a fanboy I own all 3 consoles, although I only have Metroid Prime for Gamecube. I admit my PS2 is quite neglected but it doesnt have what it needs to keep me interested. GTA: VC got boring after a few hours. Socom online is full of cheaters. Although I will check out the new RYGAR

On a side note if you like sports games than you'll know that theres really only 2 contenders (Sega and EA) in this arena and 1 of them is soon to be bought out. Rumor has it Microsoft is going to buy SEGA. And w/ that purchase Sega will be making its sports games and their other games stricly for the Box. I myself cant stand EA anymore so I wont buy anythign from them unless its stellar.

ckabusk Halo for PC is the first Halo and Halo 2 will be and mark my words released 11-15-03. The GTA series is boring to me.

If you like playing console online then the choice is w/o a doubt Xbox. Voice Communication, one gamer tag, easy to use friends list, what can be better than that. This is going to turn into a system war thread again. I can feel it.:P

I never played GTA3. I do play Halo alot. It's probably the best multiplayer game I have played. Even though it's the same levels over and over, it's still fun. I only find half the maps good. I don't like CTF so that throws out some maps. Will they ever have an expansion pack for Halo? With Halo 2 a year away, probably not. Halo is the only reason for me to buy XBOX. And soon I probably will. The replay value is amazing. No single player game can ever come close to a great multiplayer game. PS2 has probably more better games. But it doesn't have that great multiplayer game I need. For me PC is for single player games and consoles are for multiplayer games. So I'll only buy shooters and sports games for consoles.

Xbox has lots of good games. Don't listen to people who says it only has Halo.

Mechassault, Buffy, Halo, Rallisport Challenge, Hunter: The Reckoning, Morrowind, Unreal Championship, Dead or Alive 3, Splinter Cell, Project Gotham Racing, Jet Set Radio Future, Capcom vs. SNK 2 online, etc etc. All of these are good, and there are plenty more.

Why do people "Hate" the Xbox...is it because it is MS? I personally own a PS2, but my next system is an XBox, some of the best RPG games seem to be released on the XBox. I do believe that PS2 has a broader variety as far as big hits, but XBox has alot of really nice titles as well. I am beginning to lean more towards my computer for gaming though.

Oh...I vote for GTA Vice City! That game rocks!

Right. I've got to agree with OuT. Which is obvious, since I own a total of 0 consoles.

Xbox is good for a not expensive Linux PC

but for gaming? it sucks the graphic card form Nvidia is good but the rest sucks!

PS2 is much more better but the PC is the best one! you can do much more things!

not another console Vs. console Vs. pc pissing contest, til the next generation of consoles , the pc will still raine supreme...

each console has its fanboys/fangirls:
sony= more games and backwards compatability.. network play in its infancy
xbox= better graphic's and is basicly is a mini pc... network play in its infancy
gamecube = gotta love mario, crappy controller layout... unsure of network play if its available it will be in its infancy... i think nintendo is going to like the sega did back in the late 80's -early 90's thier consoles are virtually dead due to over populating with market on cart based gaming and the dreamcast lost support due to the lack of games and the lack in advertising kind of shot down thier last console attempt in the australian market...
pc= plenty of games and mods to keep gamers happy. sky's the limit on pc configuration....

i base my oppinion's what's available on the australian market, i don't want to speculate on what's available in other markets as i don't deal in them... as we only get about 3rd of what's available on the world due to the games being an excessive price it kind of keeps me from buying them, as new games sell for between $85.00-$120.00 for console or pc games, which is a bit rich for my blood...

90% of the games released on a gamecube are franchised remakes put out on the N64 before it. The only reason I would buy a gamecube would have been because of conker - live and uncut, but since that's coming out on xbox I dont want one.

Also, consoles are basically "one-size-fits-all" gaming computers. This way, it doesnt matter what kind of graphics card or what kind of os you're running, whether you have the updates or what kind of web browser you use. You plug it in, if the game says xbox or PS2 or whatever on the front then it will work - period. There are virtually no if's or but's when it comes to games not working on a console.

I just prefer xbox because, all of the good games that were previously on PS2 (like GTA and metal gear solid) are now available on xbox. BUT i do hear the vice city is terrible on xbox, glitchy as hell and unreliable (at least thats what i heard) but dont take my word for it.

I think it's pretty fair to say that most games put out on gamecube are aimed at 5-10 year olds

I said many times before and i'll say it again, CONSOLES SUCK A**! Who freakin' cares what video game or system is better. They all suck when it comes to PC. I could go on and on about why PC is so much better but I think we all know! My unwanted advice to all VIDEO gamers: YOU ARE BEING CONTROLLED AND PUSHED AROUND BY THE VIDEO GAME INDUSTRY! HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO CONTINUE TO PAY $50 FOR GAMES THAT WILL GET MAYBE 15 HOURS OF SOMEWHAT ENJOYABLE PLAYTIME! MY PEOPLE, MY PEOPLE RISE AGAINST THE VIDEO GAME MENACE! HAIL ZEON!!!!! (uh, sorry that kinda slipped out)
