Sim City 4...

Ok I only played one sim game before and it got boring really quick, tedious to. it was Black & White. I have no other experiance with sims. Im interested in building a city and watching the people drive and walk around. Do you guys this I should buy this game? How tedious will this game be?

What happened, did the magic smoke leave the machine?

For those of you who don't know, every electrical device is powered by magic smoke. As long as the magic smoke stays inside the device, it works. But sometimes it escapes...heh...

I think it's pretty fun, but I haven't been playing it very long.

I'd say get yourself a earlier version like Simcity 2000 to get yourself aquainted with the game first. It sells for like $10 at Walmart. As for myself, I think I'll wait a while when the price to go down before I get SC4

I just bought simcity 4 the other day. I owned simcity 3k and liked it so I thought I would give this one a shot. The graphics on it are awesome when you zoom in to the furthest you can watch people in picket lines, swimming in their swimming pools, or just out and about. The game got amazingly boring quickly. I cant understand why since i like sc3k. The game is so screwed up its pretty much a impossibility to have a large city and yet stay out of debt no matter what you do the sims complain about something and tend to move out. They have a option to raise taxes but of course if you even attempt to they start complaining and moving out. Even when playing tiny towns it gets pretty hard. I am really disappointed in this game 3k was so much better. There are new ways to destroy your towns which is the only high point I can find in this game besides the graphics. The game is a power hog with the largest city that’s packed. When I try to exit to region to play another city it will freeze. I tried it on a TOP of the line amd and a TOP of the line p4 the amd had a ti4600 the p4 had a 9700 both had 1.5gig ram when i would minimize the game xp said it was using 100% of the cpu and all of the free ram, and yet it would still lag while in the game. I dont know maybe I just flat out suck at these games and have no ability whatsoever to rule cities. But I do know that it’s a hog so be careful.
