Then lets say theres a new game out for pc, you go and get it at like 80-90 bucks, come home install it, or at least try to when you see you dont have enough space for it, so you delete some older games and try to play it. hey my video card doesnt meet the requirements! go out and get one that does at around 500 dollars. come home, see that even that video card plays really choppy. so you go out and upgrade your system even more and spend around another 1000 dollars.

Case=50
p/s=40
keyboard mouse=50
monitor=150
mobo=100
pc 2100=150
GF ti4200=90
santa cruz=60

1700 amd=50
2 80 gb hd=150 1 wd, 1 maxtor
cd-rw & dvd rw=100
Total=1300 bucks

Sure it sounds expensive but i havent bought a console since the playstation. I have friends who bought playstation, n64, playstation 2, xbox, and gamecube. That adds up to a hell of a lot more than my 1300 bucks. another thing, you can get great games for 20 bucks on the computer, 10 bucks. a computer is able to do so much more than a console, imo its a no brainer, computer

I'm the type of guy who looks for one object that has the most uses as possible. When it comes to PC's I can do so much more than just game. Consoles make little sense to me, they are very expensive, and each of the games costs and arm and a leg. On top of all that, consoles aren't good for anything more than gaming, I mean, that's the only reason they exist at all. PC's do games just as well, if not better, than consoles, while providing many more uses than some expensive machine.

I pawned my Playstation 2 because I never used the darn thing.

I don't really have a problem finding games I want.
I see it as the stores don't have to keep older games, and if they can put something else in the spot of the older games, then they could be making money...

With a computer:
you can chat with people
you can overclock it
you can customize it
you can burn cd's
you can run DC projects
you can run an operating system you want
you can do whatever you want to it
With a console
everything that you wish you could do with a computer :P

chat wit ppl? Xbox live.
Overclock it? You dont need to
customize it? Get a different case or add stuff to it
burn cd's? Why? its a console? This is about game remember
Operating system? Once again, no operating system needed, except for maybe xbox.
do whatever you want to it? What i can't beat the crap out of a ps2 with a hammer?!

ive made my point

you're comparing the cost of a laptop with the cost of a screen and battery pack of a console?! man, laptops are thousands, while i got a good battery pack and a good screen for my GC at just under $300!

yes, that's really expensive! (sarcasm)
ps: doesnt it suck that you cant use sarcasm that much on a forum! maybe a special font would do it?

Man, can't you keep it in one post instead of doing that?

Overclocking adds to the experience of knowing how a computer works, why do you think there's books on how to overclock? Customizing it also adds to the experience on how to do things... like learning how to mod your computer maybe one day you'd like to open up a business on it like many has done so and prospered?

And in your first post you stated oh yea, you go buy a 500 dollar card WRONG. You dont need the top of the line equipment to run a game. and when you say that it runs choppy you spend 1000 of equpiment WRONG AGAIN pal, you can resalvage equpiment like the hard drives, the ram if you're running DDR, sound card, speakers, monitor, all that.

And from the look of those posts that you added, it seems that you don't know how to use a computer that great so you flame the computer and you say to people you need to buy a whole new computer when you can re use parts

Just the other day I played through Quake.

Not Quake on my Pentium 120 overdrive with 32 mb 72 pin ram and 420 mb HDD at 320 x 200 software mode on my 2mb vid card with the awesome NIN soundtrack; but rather on my backup system. Pentium III 1ghz qwith 256 mb PC-100 with 80gb 8mb cache 7200 RPM HDD at 1280 x 1024 with shadows and transparent water and reflections on a Radeon 7500.

Too bad we'll never see how Excitebike runs on a Gamecube.
