Diablo II sound problem
It's been a while since I played Diablo II, I installed it up and patched it to the latest version 1.09, and I have the following issue, I dont get sound on it, I can hear the music, but I dont have voices, footsteps sounds even when I slash I dont get the usual sound, my machine is the following
AMD 2500 Barton
Asus A7N8X deluxe
Corsair Memory 512
Onboard sound Soundstorm
ATI Radeon 9500
WinXP
Anyone had problems with a configuration similar that this one?
Any suggestions?Last edited by washe; June 2nd, 2003 at 02:27 AM.

since you say you get music but no effects sound...its not a soundcard/chip problem.
Try going in to options and seeing what the sound levels are set at ....if the effects levels are set too low or off.
little chance of that being it unless you turned them down yourself, or like what happened to me,...daughter was playing and she got tired of the death screams and turned the levels down without telling me. Spent 20 min. swearing and tearing stuff apart before I figured it out.

Well finally I got it
, it was not software related or the volume levels, actually it was more the the connections on the back of the case, the front speakers were incorrecly as digital output, the back ones were at the front
, so I was not getting the front channel at all... I think diablo 2 uses the front speakers for action sounds, speech and the back speaker for music and enviromental audio...
Thanx
