| Help with CS dedicated server????
OK, I've been given some websites on how to do this but I'm not really sure on one thing
*FOR COUNTER-STRIKE*
So I get one of my friends with a good comp and all that and get him to press dedicate so he creates a dedicated server, Now, How do i gain access and get ADMIN control over this server?
*THANKS FOR READING AND FOR ANY POSTS*

i dont think a password is required to join a dedicated server, that's only if u set one. i never really got a chance to test if creating a game worked for me since im behind layers of protection so my friends couldn't connect to my ip despite multiple attempts at creating a game. |

If you want to take full control of his server, you need to edit his server.cfg in the \cstrike\ directory
you need to add: where xxx is the password.
once you're done, run the dedicated server.
Go back to your computer and type then you may execute any command as if you were at the hosting computer.
you must add "rcon" (don't use quotes in the console) before any command.
like the xxx is your variable and the single x is the number.

Just add the rcon_password <pass> right at the end.
Oh, variables are my enemy but they make sense in this kind of thing. |

You're looking for server.cfg in your \cstrike\ directory.
Open that with your fave text editor and add the rcon variable I gave you in my previous post. |
