Superbike 2001 on XP?

Hi:
Sorry to reopen this old thread. I have tried just about everything to get Superbike 2001 to run on XP (home version). I tried the fix that worked for Agent_Embryo using the Superbike2000v1.0NoCDEng fix from megagames.com to no avail (is this the right file?). The game runs right through to the start of the race, and then freezes on the grid (which I suppose is better than crashing to the desktop as it does without the patch). Does this sound like a video card problem rather than an XP problem?

Well, I managed to get Superbike 2001 going on XP (thanks Bill). For the record, the problem is caused when you are using Soundmax Integrated Audio. If you disable this device, run under Win 98 compatability using the megagames.com patch, and use 16 bit color, then all goes fine (except you have no sound).

Does anyone have any idea how to get Soundmax working with this game? Thanks for reading!
