Should i learn C++ or Java?
For Future Business Leaders of America for next year i want to rape the competition, and kick them in the ass after im done, so i figure i should start working on it now. Which would be easier / more useful?
Are there places to take courses? good books? |

Both languages are pretty much equal difficulty wise. Java is very portable, while c++ is a bit more powerfull. If your looking a starter language, that is if you have no prev. exp. in programming, go with just regular C. Also a lot of programs dealing with internet stuff are written in Java, since its very very portable. Also Java is taught a bit more as a starter pl than c++, while just plain c is most common.
Id check what language theyr asking for and get back for book recomendations.

the written objective test for C++ programming will consist of items related to arrays; computer concepts; word functions including sub procedures or subroutines; programming structures: sequence, decision / selection, and repetition; cariables; constatnts; degubbing procedures; types of input and output; and strings.
That is what c++ would consist of.
The written objective test for Java programming will consist of items related to menu and arrays; window controls; computer concepts; word functions including sub procedures or subroutines; programing structures: sequecnce, decision/ selection, and repitition; variables; constatns; debuggin procedures; type of input and output; and GUI.

Do you have any prior programming experience? BASIC, Pascal, C ...
Id go with c since I know it better, and since you dont need stuff about window controls and the gui.
The only thing I dont quite get is what they mean by word functions.
