lost data after reformatting

I have recentley had to reinstall windows xp due to problems .I reinstalled without backing up a couple files one of which is a flyer i designed.
The only copy i have is a printed version .Could anyone tell me the best way to scan it back to my computer so it looks like the original file i lost and not like a photo of the scanned image/flyer.

You could try data recovery software.

Freeware File Recovery

There's a link to a prog (Drive Rescue) in there somewhere. That's worked for me before.
