small internet browser

what free internet browser uses the least amount of ram? (i have 256 with xp, and like to run lots of progs at once)

May not be *the* smallest browser, but you could try out Mozilla FireFox.

yah, i have that, mozilla, and internet explorer, trying to find out which one is allaround best, and also looking for a new small one

firefox (13mb currently) takes up more memory than Opera (10mb currently), at least for me. thats with firefox on it's start page and opera on 4 pages with a chat room open.

I have no idea how MyIE2 works... whether or not it's using about 20mb in processes elsewhere, but it says myie2.exe is using 3.1mb.

I'm pretty sure it's just a front end for IE.

It's not windows, but the smallest graphics-enabled browser I know of is dillo. It's about 350k total

If you use Mozilla or Opera, make sure you disable RAM caching. Righ now, my Opera is using 81mb RAM because I have 5 tabs open; each of them with a long history (which is all stored in the RAM). Disabling RAM caching would take that 81mb down to maybe 10mb, but forums errors would mean my post is gone, and hitting the back button would not be instantaneous.
