Also..........
Is there supposed to be any payment to you included in this $1,000???
Since we're overclocking, I'd drop the cpu down to a 2.4 and maybe lighten up the ram. 512mb (2x256) is truly a good #.
Take this processor with NW core & save tons of grief ---------> http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...116-157&depa=1
I'd probably also back the HD down to a 120gb.......(and to be honest, I don't see why an 80gb wouldn't do just fine, but, of course something over 100gb always looks more impressive)
I like the price of the 9800pro's right now. No-brainer!!

Sorry, but since I do not like Intel's, I do not keep up-to-date as to which boards/chipsets are good and what not, so I made up an AMD-based system for ya....full system for $1086.98 + $47 shipping....yes, a little over, but if you do not need a monitor or speakers, then it's under, heh...and this system will blow most current systems out the water with a good OC...good luck, ttyl... http://secure.newegg.com/app/WishR.asp?ID=757334

Also, forgot to reference this message, heh....Dropping it down to 512MB would hurt his performance on games, Website creating (advanced), video editing, and Database Management...stick with 1024....as for the drop in CPU speed, I agree, if you're going to go intel, do not spend the extra $50 or so, don't remember, on a CPU when you can OC the cheaper one to atleast that speed....spend the money on the good RAM, you won't be sorry....also, go for a minimum of a 120GB Hard Drive, not much higher or lower is needed right now, unless you're big on movies/video editing....I definitely agree with the pricing on the 9800 Pro's right now...just a little over $200 for something that nice, scoop it up, heh... |

I wouldn't go for 512... Go for the full gig, you'll be glad you did especially for a gaming machine. Farcry for example runs a lot better with a gig of ram vs 512... As i'm sure the case will be with Doom3 and HL2. |
