sudden barrage of worms/viruses of windows code flaw?

sudden barrage of worms/viruses of windows code flaw?

could it be due to windows source code leak few months ago? anyone remember that

That was Windows ME. Most of these holes are related to RPC which is only in the NT line of systems.
These holes are just the backdoors that MS left in getting discovered. Most of them have come from eeye security IIRC, so they seem to be doing a good job.

I thought the windows source leak was parts of NT 4 and Win2k

There were 3 Versions to my knowledge of the Source leak floating around the internet. The first 2 had virii and other bad things in it and the 3rd was an attept of cleaning one of the first two but from what I understand it didnt work. Stay away from the Source Code Leaks! Most of the Worms and Virii seem to be infecting systems that were previously infected by another virus or worm. They seem to use holes in the older virii or worms.
