I choose Opera Over firefox due to several features. Alot of firefox's embedded features seem to slow down or bog down firefox making it slower. Firefox's pop-up blocker seems to not block out certain pop-ups. Also, when i used firefox i seemed to contract spyware/ad-ware alot. Opera has many features that firefox does not match, inlucing the m2 mail client. Post your views on Opera and firefox here. |

Contracted spyware/ad-ware alot using Firefox?!!!! Replace "alot" with "not at all" and you'd be correct. Seems to me you're confused. |

I voted for Firefox. I haven't gotten a pop-up for the life of my computer, which is almost 7 months using Mozilla for the first 6.5, then for the last 2 weeks I have been using Firefox. |

Opera's is no integrated as well right into the browser in the newest version. Also Opera is now fully customizable you can change toolbars add toolbars add new buttons, literally the browser is almost fully customizable. You can also edit connection settings, which can increase the speed of loading pages.

My vote goes to opera, it seems to load pages a tad bit faster then firefox and I like interface better. Just a personal preference really since they are both excellent browsers.

I've used both for quite a while, and I'm voting for Firefox. IMHO, it has the feature that I need the most -- it renders pages correctly. Right or Wrong, Opera still has problems dispaying some pages out on the Internet. Most likely it's because the authors of those pages didn't code them properly, and IE renders anything no matter how badly written so they don't even know it's wrong.
Opera chokes on some of them, while Firefox can handle them more gracefully. |

well, Opera and Firefox are clearly better than IE, but between Opera and Firefox, it is really just a matter of personal preference. I prefer Opera because it not only has a faster *raw speed* (meaning page-rendering) but also it generally makes web surfing more efficient and faster by all of the convenient features it has, like wand, and M2, etc. etc. etc. Also, you can find MUCH better support for this on the Opera forums. people there truly know their stuff and will give you hard facts and proof that prove Opera to be the fastest. look for guys like non-troppo and stuff. |

As long as we're both clear on one thing: both Opera and Firefox beat IE.
Then, it's a matter of personal preference. I really don't think one browser is truly overall better than the other. For me, Opera is definitely the way to go. Opera runs faster, it displays pages faster -- and almost never displays them incorrectly, and Opera has all the features I need in a browser. And it has them integrated much more smoothly than Firefox, for which you have to download extensions that not only slow things down but don't work as smoothly together and could cause conflicts. I also favor Opera's interface over Firefox's, mostly because Firefox's reminds me way too much of IE. Opera is also much more customizable than Firefox -- so even if you hate Opera's interface, you can easily change it to look completely different, and the skinning process with Opera couldn't be easier. Hundreds of skins are easily available on the Opera community website, and Opera automatically equips them once downloaded. So you really can't even complain about Opera's look or interface, because you can make it look however you like. |
