hiya ,
i am having problems with my sons puter, it is a
hp: celeron 1300/256/100/1.5
gforce fx5200 d256mb
512sdram
problem is , power supply burned out , made computer run slugish after i replaced it. then my download speed went from 3mb to 26kbs so i replaced the modem but when i went to power up the computer, there was no signal beeing sent to the monitor( well does not say no signal just stays black and does not boot up)..i checked all conections, tried monitor and gfx card on my computer and both worked fine .went online and bought a new mach speed 694tas from tiger direct, thinking i may have fried the motherboard.conected it and same problem no siganl to monitor. i also replaced cpu chip with a older one i had 700mhz 100fsb all celerons(compatiable). and same problem. i am at a halt to what it can be. i have replaced and reconneted everything over and over.oh the motherboard does power up, fan spins, i have beeps turned off and cant get a signal to monitor to enter bios to turn back on( i know what a dumba$$ i should of left on) any how do u think both my cpu chips are fried(and i have amd so i cant test chips on mine ) or is there another problem...i cant figure it out and im going insain..please help with feed back
rob.

What type of enviroment are you in? If you have the space that is remotly dust free, and (more importantly) static free, set the computer up with jsut the Power supply, mobo, CPU, ram, hdd, and vid (I think thats it) when I would work on computers at a store (NOT BB) I used to run into celerons that when you pulled it out of the case and tested one thing at a time it would work.
Have you tested the power supply?
Just a few ideas
