Cant get rid of search bar no matter what

I've been trying to get this search bar off my friends comp for months now.. keep reading up on it and such.. adware, spybot, cwshredder, virus scans, etc etc.

Have not yet been able to remove it.... i'm hoping some of you will recongnize it and have a solution...

Have you looked in Add/Remove Programs? I assume you have, but it can't hurt to ask.

Check for activex controls
I'm on a linux box at the moment but I think its something like

in IE, Tools --> Internet Options --> Settings button --> View Objects
It should be in there

Maybe if you keep unchecking it the program will get tired and give up

It seems it may randomly generate a toolbar name... as a google search for either of those names rendered absolutely no result

Do you have the latest version of AdAware with the updates installed? If not it would be worth while to d/l it.
