| I think I have everything decided
Since the arrival of Doom 3 is a week or so away, I've started my system upgrade and have ordered some of the necessary components. Here's the system:
Asus K8V Motherboard
Amd Athlon 64 3400+ processor
2 Western Digital Raptor 74GB 10,000 RPM SATA Hard Drives
Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series 1GB Twin Pack
Aspire X-SuperAlien Blue Aluminum Server Case
Sony 16X Dvd-Rom Drive
Plextor 12X dvd+rw/-rw drive
eVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6800GT Video Card, 256MB
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS PCI Sound Card
CREATIVE GigaWorks S750 7.1 Speakers or
Logitech THX Certified Z-680 5.1 Speakers
As of now the motherboard, case and sony dvd-rom are here. What do you guys think? I know it's coming down to the wire, but I want to make sure I have an awesome pc for Doom 3.. so any last minute suggestions? I know I made a similar post not too long ago, but don't worry.. this'll be the last.. lol
Thanks a lot,
Todd

Btw, what would you guys suggest monitor wise? Right now I have a Dell 15" Lcd, and I'd like to use the best resolution; therefore, upgrading seems essential. |

for gaming really if i was in your shoe i will really go with CRT monitor for gaming and graphics stuff a good 19 inch is fine.
hmmm i have seen a lot of game makers use CRT also on pixar studio they hardly use LCD, maybe on coding but for designs and other stuff CRT really works. its like a guitar amp the tube type is much better and sounds better than the new once.
