Do you have any interest at all in overclocking? Or do you have an interest in the Athlon64? |

A popular combo is the Asus A7N8X (either deluxe or -X version) and the XP+2500...it'll set you back about $160 or so. Check out newegg.com for prices.

dude, you've got to chill on all those quick bumps, lol
what do you want to use the computer for? gaming? browsing the internet? If you just want a general purpose computer then the choices are wide open ...and in that case I would suggest somethign like a Biostar motherboard with an Athlon XP2500 or something like that....I suggest Biostar because they are easy to set up because the bios isnt as complicated. If you might overclock then you want an asus or a abit or epox maybe..something with lots of overclocking option in the bios
If it wont be used for gaming then onboard video is probably good enough and will save you a few dollars.
I like this board http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...138-231&depa=0 for just basic builds.
If you want something maybe better performing you can get an Nforce2 board like this one http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...138-234&depa=0 ..it has the onboard GF4 graphics so it will be able to play at least some basic games
with motherboards now, the choices are unlimited....and most board made now are really stable etc...so usually features and prices are the main selling points.
