| SBC Yahoo DSL or Verizon DSL
Ok i cant decide between these two there both practically the same price,
Sbc is 26.99 for a yr then 29.99 and Verizon is 29.99 but a full month free, SBc Yahoo come with Yahoo Premium Serivces(that wut i think) but Verizon come with MLB.com live games service which is a big plus(im a big cubs fan, go cubs). Can u guys tell me which dsl service i should take and if you have had a dsl service with this company please tell me ur experience.
Thank to anyone that responds. |

I've had Ameritech->SBC->Yahoo->Ameritech-SBC-Yahoo since summer 2000. Except for some rocky times that first summer, I've really been well pleased with Ameritech/SBC service. Very little down time, consistent speeds, consistent connection, very steady... have come to EXPECT aDSL service always on just like phone service.
Don't have any opinion re Verizon (never used them).
Check out http://www.dslreports.com/forum/ilec,am to see what users' complaints/issues are like. There will also be a Verizon site at www.dslreports.com.

I am also a big SBC Yahoo DSL fan. I like the fact that you get the upgraded inbox, and access to the music and everything else that Yahoo has to offer. If you're a music fan and like radio stations, the SBC Launchast Radio is a very nice feature.
Haven't used Verizon, but I am sure someone will chime in for you. |

We've had Verizon for 2 or 3 years now. I can say just about verbatim what jmichna saya about Ameritech/SBC including the trouble the first week (We weren't getting the speeds we were paying for. Someone forgot to throw a switch on their end). Constant speeds and connection and very little downtime. I don't think we've been down but once or twice the longest time being about 8 hours or so. The constant connection is nice, too. If they do go down you can call them and they'll take the days dollar amount and subtract it from your bill. |

I've set-up some verizon DSL customers here in Tampa (and have some friends who have it as well), all with no complaints. But keep in mind, they were coming off of dial-up!
I probably would've considered DSL route (use RoadRunner), but a basic phone line in your house is @ $50 here, so instead I jacked-up my cell minutes and use VoIP (Dialpad) when my minutes get low.

If your're a big baseball fan go with Verizon. They will all use the local phone companies phonelines, so it doesn't make any difference. I have SBC/Yahoo DSL. I used the included software to set things up, then I removed all of it except for the dialup manager. Sometimes the DSL freezes. for some reason, when I just log on with dial up, it'll reset my DSL.
