Well, i'm sorry if you havn't been eating your wheaties, but you can't go around throwing down other peoples opinions. If you have a problem whith what I think is in that computer you can go tell a mod.

| But you can? Sorry, when you can back up your "opinion" with some experiecnce or something other than another TIMO thread we can talk. Until then you are spouting ignorance. Quote: |

| Don't have a problem with it. You are free to think and feel whatever makes you happy. But, as I said above, you should be able to back it up with REAL information or experience. And, don't get all upset when I don't heed to your whopping few years of HS experience when you tell me I am wrong. |

I never said your SCSI i dea was wrong, you said it yourself. You said SCSI wasn't ment for home use when you can clearly see that this computer was slapped together in someones house. I only provided information as too why I think its IDE. All you said what that it can't be IDE and that my information was wrong, and saying that because you are older than me and i am in HS that you are smarter than I am. You threw an unsult at me, like thats real mature.
Your stereotypical against kids younger than you. You think that cause your older you know more.
All i was saying is that I KNOW those drives are IDE because i have read the originail thread before. Its just that I don't have the originail thread to prove it so I try to provide as much information i can pointing towards those drives being IDE and not SCSI.
ALso, you havn't been able to backup your opinion either with anything that makes sense. |

original thread proves you know what you read there, not what is really there. Quote: |

| No, I KNOW I know more about this than a HS kid. I am paid very well to know things like this, thank you very much. Quote: |

I'm done with this thread. If you want to stereotype, go ahead. But I am not going to listen to anymore of your bull****. |

It's not stereotyping. It's life. One day you will understand.
Believe it or not, I remember what it is like for everyone to look at me as just a "dumb kid". It does suck. And, one day you will see where I am coming from.
Here is all I am saying:
I am sure you have a great deal of knowldege from reading and working on yours and others PCs. All of your thinking is sound. But, you keep going back to the PC mindset. Like you refuse to acknowlege that anyone could possibly know something that you don't. You (and others in this thread) continue to make comments about knowing they are IDE by the cables and stuck on something about PCI cards. Neither of which will tell you if they are IDE SCSI or whatever, at least not from the views we have.
The point isn't what is in this monstrosity. The point is that everyone oohs and aahs at it without the faintest understanding of why IDE is a bad choice for something like this.
This COULD have been something constructive, but you wanted to keep harping on how you knew this and that and I don't know my a** from a hole in the ground rather than asking questions or even trying to understand anything but what you have/know.
Believe me, there are WAY cooler things out there than PCs. Between blades, SAN and other new technologies. And understanding these will benifit you infinitely more in your future than almost anything you will do with your PC. Nothing is cooler than a rack full of blade servers, it is mind boggling that in something the size of a desktop PC they have crammed 24 servers, each with a hard drive, memory and CPU. Seeing a rack of drives 6 feet tall still inspires awe in me. |

| Actually SJ, you turned this thread into making a point about that. Everyone else was having fun speculating on what the picture was/wasn't.
I could care less about server technology. I'm happy if my PC stays running through a gaming session without slowing down or hiccupping on me. I've seen servers and am impressed with the tech of it, but I'm happier looking at a really cool plexi enclosed powersupply than a big box with hdd's in it. I think most of the people in this thread think the same way.
No offense, because I know you are passionate about your work, but this isn't a thread on server technology. |

| Until I speculated something that wasn't the same as them. Silly me using my knowldge to make a statement that doesnt agree with the great minds at TechIMO. |
