HP OfficeJet 5510 Hardware won't install
I just purchased an hp officejet 5500 series all-in-one. I can't get the printer to install. It copies, faxes and scans to my pc, but it won't print from my pc. I downloaded all the correct hp drivers, but my former Brother 3100C hardware is interfering. I can't locate the brother driver or any brother hardware but my pc still thinks it's there. I'm attaching what the printer properties look like - and I tried to delete the printer but it won't let me - it just says 'deleting', but never does anything. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hey Deb, welcome to the forum. Have you tried to reboot the machine and then try to uninstall the old printer from printer and faxes properties?

Welcome to the forum!!
I suggest uninstalling everything Brother or HP related. If necessary.. Install the Brother software again.. and then uninstall it. After that.. Install the software for the HP.
What OS are you using?

HP OfficeJet 5510 Hardware won't install
Hi. I'm running XP Pro. I uninstalled everything, reinstalled, and uninstalled again. I found a different driver on HP and tried it. This may really be a problem in the hardware. What happens when I try to install the printer is it can't find the specific printer, it looks for a very generic HP OfficeJet, and even tho I know it's a 5510, it just doesn't recognize that or even acknowledge that the HP OfficeJet 5510 is in the software or drivers. I guess I have no option but to pay the shipping and return it for a replacement, it is under manufacturers warranty, so if there is a problem with the hardware itself, perhaps a new one will resolve it. I can see no other reason for this puppy to not install. I appreciate your replies. There is an amazing amount of information in this forum - I'm sure I'll use it a lot. Debbie.

Um, perhaps you could list the actual 2GB Memory card. (Couldn't hurt to also list your exact Power Supply Specs/Info, and CPU Info) I'm going to assume, with out that info, that the 2GB Card you...
