Thanks in advance for any info you can provide!
I'm looking to get a laptop that I would like to use for word processing, burning cds, watching DVDs (while plugged in), recording guitar/vox (for fun), playing games (not going to break my heart if I can't play Doom 3 or whatever), and surfing the web. I am looking to spend 1500 can.
bonus questions.
Should I go Pent 4 or Centrino?
How much Ghz can I afford?
Am I better off buying from a london drugs/ future shop or a boutique store or online?
What about going cheap with a Pentium III 800Mhz?
Which of these three spec/price layouts is the best-
>>>Gateway520s > , 4200rpm, 24XCD-RW/DVD,WinXP,40Gb,2.8Ghz,Pent4,512ram,wireless,10/100=can1739$aftertax
>>>ToshibaSatelliteA40-CXV > ,24XCD-RW/DVD,WinXPandMicrosoft office one note(what is this),2.66Ghz Pent4,512ram (expandable to 2GB via 2 slots same for 520s?), 802.11gWireless Card, Parallel+RGB+4USB2.0+External Mic Port+TV-out,10/100=1822can$ after tax
>>>ASUS P4? > Pent4,3Ghz, 256MBRam,7200RPM,52x32x52 1.44 or 16x DVDrom, 3D Video Card, 3D Sound LAN or BO, ATX Case, 400W Power, PS2 Internet Keyboard, Labtec Speakers, 17" BenQ = 911$ Can after tax what do i need to know about this deal
Thanks so much for any help,
Paul |

i have a sager and like it alot it was expensive though but it is a P4 3.2 and has an ATI 128 meg i believe 9300 or something vid card.
remember you need the vid card to play games. You can get the best CPU and if you vid card is no good then you games will be no good |
