HELP! I've forgotten password!

I need help! I have forgotten my password needed to log my system on! I have a IBM Thinkpad laptop in which had a password required before the system would boot.....how to retrieve this or even remove it so that my computer may be used?? Please help!!

I could see the problem here, however I am an adult and it is MY system. I have not used it in awhile and all these darn passwords that you need for just about anything now-a-days, I guess I should have just chosen 1 and used it for all. How about e-mailing me instead of in the forum then???

You take it to ibm authorized repair shop and ask them to remove the password.

Note: Do not forget your Power On Password! If you forget your power-on password, you cannot reset it. You have to take the computer to an IBM authorized reseller or IBM marketing representative to have the password cancelled. Proof of purchase is required, and an additional charge might be required for the service.

too bad its a laptop cause i know a simple fix if it was a desktop
