Same as RC car-boat and plane batteries. 6 cell and 5 cell are commen. Some are 1.5 cells some 2volt and higher. All diff Mah are out there. Higher better fo course. You can buy the single cells even, they sell them at hobby sites. But I wouldnt mix brands personally.

The industry high end line of B&D is Dewalt. I think dewalt is second to none. Now when talking B&D branded equipment not the co. itself, yes I agree crap. |

| I kind of solved my problem. I'd like to get a hold of a charger for the Firestorm still. The one mentioned earlier at Amozon is for the slide battery style. I have the phalic styled battery. lol (Don't know what to call the style)
Cheers! |

If you're going to repair your battery pack then I recommend replacing ALL of the cells, not just one. That way you're assured of having all the cells matching. |

those can actually use the same chargers that dewalt drills use (that aren't the slide type). Their batteries and chargers are interchangeable between dewalts and B&Ds as long as they use the same locking mechanism |

After having battery/charger problems with Skil, B&D, Coleman, and Craftsman, I decided not to go cheap-cheap and purchased a mid-line driver because of the charger that came with it.
I purchased the Delta Shopmaster CL180 from my local Menard's for $72 on sale.
I love this thing!! And the smart charger won't let it charge a bad or hot battery. The one hour charge time is nice too, since I can recharge one battery while draining the other one

i have the same problems as all of you describe.my charger light does not come on or get warm when the battery is placed into it.how do you know if it is the charger or battery.it worked fine until the carger stopped coming on.i hate to buy a charger and find out it is the battery.how do you tell without any kind of testing equipment?i only paid $50 for it about four years ago and have not used it very much around the house at all. |
