Bought an IDE controller card because of broken IDE port. Need Help.

Ok, I've been sitting here for about 5 hours straight! Trying to fix my computer with a new Pci IDE controller card. My primary IDE port doen't work at all...so I can only detect hard drives or cd-roms...so now i have this controller card and I thought i could just plug it in and see my cd-roms. It detects my hard drives cause they are plugged into the secondary IDE port in my mother board and I plugged in my cd-roms into the ide controller card. My comuter does detect the cd-rom, but my windows doesn't see it...So I have a software cd to install the drivers and utilities, but guess what....It doesn't detect my cd-roms!!!! so I can't install it! lol anyway, here is a link to the card I bought http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...104-214&depa=1

I would have used the PCI card for the hard drives, but your setup should still work once the required drivers are properly installed.

oops nvm, I actually found it on the link to the IDE card lol. Well, maybe this will help someone with the same problem :-/ heh
