proffit -- why would you say to go with the 6800 over the 9800. I've heard it a lot on TechIMO. Just wondering why take a 128 MB over the 256 |

Cause the 6800 is the new line of nVidia, and it is better then the 9800Pro 256Mb.
Memory isn't everything ya know, look at the 9800Pro 128Mb vs the 5900U 256Mb.
The 9800Pro won most of the times in benchmarks. |

I wouldn't say that the card is outdated, that is not true.
It was a top of the line model before the new cards came along.
Now it can be considered as midrange. |

So the 6800 can outperform the 9800 pro. That's the feeling I've been getting from people on TechIMO |

Yes it can, but thats because its the newer video card.
I have a Radeon 9800 and its great. But if you have the bucks, opt for the Geforce.
As stated before here, and most people should really know this, the memory isn't everything.

Are you aware of the ATI RADEON X800 PRO AGP 8X 256MB? It is another choice if you are looking for top of the line cards. It'll cost you around $394.00 US if you are willing to spend some more on this bad boy. |
