Lately, my computer has been acting sort of strange. When I sign on, it says "Invalid Backweb application id "137903" I'd really appreciate it if someone can look over my hijackthis log. Thanks!!!

those last two lines look suspicious... There is also mention of wild tangent closer to the beginning of the log. Definatly want to get rid of that.

Couple things you can do real easy...
I suggest running Spybot , Adaware , disk cleanup, and two good tweaking programs as well...
XPSmoker
TuneXP
XPSmoker will tweak alot of settings and allow you to clean alot of stuff up...
TuneXP will make some tweaks and speed up startup and defrag boot files...
I also suggest using RegScrubXP to clean up your registry...
you can also click "Start" and then "Run".... type in "msconfig" and click ok...
choose selective startup under the "General" tab, and then go to the last top "Startup" tab and uncheck any unknown startup items you don't recognise...

backweb is on HP computers and it's some sort of spyware or something. I believe you can uninstall it in Add/remove programs. If not, Go to Start > Run and type "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the dialogue box and press Enter. When the msconfig screen appears click on the startup tab and uncheck anything to do with backweb.

Yet again, Regulus in his strange language chimes in... but this time it helped jog my memory into adding RegscrubXP to my suggestions...
you start to sober up or something Regulus... I nearly comprehend your post
-----------
be cautious of eradicating all Wild Tangent traces... some games and online things require it to run properly... from what I've been able to figure out, you can get rid of the stuff Adaware and Spybot find as spyware but if you remove the remnants in your registry or uninstall it from "Add/Remove" it will make certain Apps or games not usable anymore...

Invalid Backweb Application

When I log on to Windows, I get runner error "invalid backweb application, id 137903", how do i fix this?.

You have downloaded a program that contains spyware or adware. The spyware or adware has been removed but the program requires the spyware to be installed in order to run, without it you will get the Run Time error. This program runs on startup so you will have to uninstall the program that had the spyware associated with it. Run Msconfig from the Start > Run window and turn off the progam that you downloaded, or uninstall the program.

If you still cannot find the program do a search for files that contain the word "Backweb

I found this on the www in one second or less.
