pop-ups!!!
could someone please tell me where pop-ups store themselves on my computer so i can destroy every last one of them. Its really getting to a serious stage now, pretty much every 2 minutes about 8 pop ups just appear like get free smilies and get free holidays now! and they are very very
annoying to deal with, i have a demo version of Ad-Ware which i got free of one of PC Gamers disc but i do scans with it and finds things but doesnt fix my problem and the pop ups keep coming back, i've even deleted all my cookies and temp. internet files. PLEASE, PLEASE can someone help! or recommend a programme to kill these damned pests! thank you very much.

I can understand your frustration but DO NOT title a thread with profanity.

You may also want to try a new brouwser, like Firefox which has a built in pop up blocker. If you do use adaware make sure it is updated, you may also want to try Spybot S&D.

take it you're usin xp.
uninstall the junk that you got on the mag disc.
clear out all cookies, and temp internet files from all browsers.
run adaware and spybot. and ccleaner.
download them and run them.
turn up your cookie settings in IE and/or firefox to block all third party cookies and images that don't come from the site you are visiting.
if you are using firefox, turn on the built in pop up blocker, if you are using IE, make sure you have XP sp2 installed and turn on the pop up blocker in IE.
be careful what you down load, be careful what you install, and be careful where you surf.
ad blocking can also be turn on in some av/firewall apps like NIS.
